Thrilling Finish

I've been MIA because I was busy with our first golf tournament of the year. Saturday it was cold and drizzling. I finished fourth, but my brother, who hasn't played in a decade, came back and finished second!!!!! Sunday was a six-round event. After three rounds I was two strokes out of the lead behind last year's state champion in my division. I played great in the afternoon, with an 84 (that's 24 under par), but it was one stroke short of tying. On the 108th and final hole the champ, who was two strokes ahead, bogeyed hole 18, kicking the door open for me. All I had to do was ace (hole in one) the 18th and we were tied and would play an 18-hole playoff. I hit the ball with all the skill I could muster. It went up the hill on the line I wanted, hit the back rail and ran for the hole....and stopped about five inches away. I came in second with a 175 (which is 41 under par for the tournament). It was a pretty good week for me. I won $50 between the local tournament last Wednesday, the Sunday tournament "runner-up" prize, and my massive $4 Nassau victory that I discussed earlier. Best of all, we're playing again...and my brother (who got me interested in playing professionally to begin with) is back playing, too!!! PS -- I wasn't present for this, but you can watch Pro Putter Hall of Famer Rick Baird sink the 18th hole for the third perfect score (18) in Putt Putt history:
Rick Baird shoots the third perfect round, 18, in Putt-Putt history. Since 1954, only three perfect rounds have ever been recorded in sanctioned competition....

That is pretty cool i would be so mad if my brother did that to me after not playing in so long. I hope that you had a great time as it sounds like you did are you going to be back here more now?

I'll be here this week, but next week is the country music conference so all you'll hear from me is crickets chirping. Nah, I'm not mad at my brother, I'm glad he played so well after being away so long! He's better than I am in changeable conditions. I can only play well in "normal" conditions.

Congratulations. I didn't know you could play mini-golf professionally.

Congratulations! There is a small, nothing special course in Colorado Springs. The guy who worked there had perfect scores on all three courses. Of course, he played them everyday.
