Almost Healed Up

It's been about five weeks since I've told you about my fall I had on the sidewalk last month. And about three weeks, since my last update. The good news: any trace of my scrape is gone from my nose and upper lip. A little trace of it is left on my right palm.
The bad news is that my left knee and right elbow still hurts and sore, when I move it. I'm still sleeping with extra pillows and use aspirin when I need it. I hope to get back to the gym this summer with yoga and pilates in the 2 weeks or so. And I hope to return to my home practice this summer, too.
How long did it take for you to heal, when you had a fall, even not on a sidewalk?

I'm trying to. I hope I feel better by my birthday in 1.5 weeks.

I bruise easily and it takes forever for them to go away. I don't walk on too many sidewalks!

I broke my leg last September from a fall off the curb at church. It was a month of rehab and then home and still I think it was January before I returned the walker to the nursing home where I got it from, and another month before I returned the shower bench to the Aging Resource Center. Now it's completely healed and a rare trace that anything was wrong with it. Except for the swelling on my legs caused from the broken bones.

@KristenH So am I. I've now broken both legs, not at the same time. One six years ago and then this past September. When the first one broke, that leg swelled, when the other one broke, that leg swelled. The doctor has me on blood pressure water pills at the moment to take the swelling down and bring my blood pressure under control. It's working. I've lost 15 pounds so far and hoping to do a lot more.

When I was a child, falls and injuries usually healed very rapidly. In the present I have not had accidents like falls, but for other minor accidents, I usually have to help the system for a complete healing.

@KristenH Not as lucky, with the pass of time one has to be more careful with accidents.

Its taken me a long time to heal from my last fall when I twisted my knee but I guess I don't bounce back as quickly anymore

@KristenH healing time just seems to be a lengthy process as I get older. Hope you're coming along with your injury

Not yet. But I'll see my doctor for a physical next month. I hope it goes away by then. Thanks Marsha.

I hope they stop hurting soon. I know how frustrating it is not to be able to do what you want to do.
