Almost Healed Up

It's been about five weeks since I've told you about my fall I had on the sidewalk last month. And about three weeks, since my last update. The good news: any trace of my scrape is gone from my nose and upper lip. A little trace of it is left on my right palm. The bad news is that my left knee and right elbow still hurts and sore, when I move it. I'm still sleeping with extra pillows and use aspirin when I need it. I hope to get back to the gym this summer with yoga and pilates in the 2 weeks or so. And I hope to return to my home practice this summer, too. How long did it take for you to heal, when you had a fall, even not on a sidewalk?

Healing still needs to take place. Falling can create a whole lot of soreness. I hope you find comfort.

I guess you're right. I wish it didn't hurt when I bend my knees and elbows.

I bruise easily and it takes forever for them to go away. I don't walk on too many sidewalks!

I broke my leg last September from a fall off the curb at church. It was a month of rehab and then home and still I think it was January before I returned the walker to the nursing home where I got it from, and another month before I returned the shower bench to the Aging Resource Center. Now it's completely healed and a rare trace that anything was wrong with it. Except for the swelling on my legs caused from the broken bones.

@KristenH So am I. I've now broken both legs, not at the same time. One six years ago and then this past September. When the first one broke, that leg swelled, when the other one broke, that leg swelled. The doctor has me on blood pressure water pills at the moment to take the swelling down and bring my blood pressure under control. It's working. I've lost 15 pounds so far and hoping to do a lot more.

When I was a child, falls and injuries usually healed very rapidly. In the present I have not had accidents like falls, but for other minor accidents, I usually have to help the system for a complete healing.

@KristenH Not as lucky, with the pass of time one has to be more careful with accidents.

I hope not Judy. If it hurts by my physical next month, I might mention it to my doctor in my check-up.

Sorry to hear that you are still in pain - have you consulted a doctor? I know that the older I get the more time I need to get over any injuries.

Thanks Jabo. No doctor yet. When I hurt my knees in April 2015, I saw a doctor. He said it was a sprain and told me to rest my knees. But I might next month for my physical, since it's only a mild pain and not so bad.
