What The Heck!

According to an article in Yahoo there will be a new controversial legislation to be passed in Pakistan – It authorizes men to beat their wives for refusing to have sex and to bathe themselves after sex and during their period (menstruation). Pakistani men may have complained to the authorities that their wives keep saying – “Honey, sorry not tonight, I got a terrible headache!” Although this legislation may appear to be stupid and barbaric, I think there are good or positive effects to families in particular and to the country in general. Hereunder are the positive effects: 1. Rapes will be minimized if not eliminated. 2. Married women will learn to practice good hygiene. 3. Most men if sexually satisfied are hardworking and family-oriented. 4. and men will not cheat on their wives. Let me conclude this short article by yelling – “What a stupid legislation?” What do you think?

@ElizabethWallace But everything is now made in China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. So, which one of the 3 are you going to buy what it manufactures. Bangladesh?

I believe that my man will always be contented without having to rape anybody else. I always practice good hygiene every single day and more on my menstrual period days. My man doesn't have to work, i will work for hm And my man will never cheat as I always carry a bucketful of ice to keep him cool on hot days!!

@antonbunot Yes I've read in the news about a man who had two daughters that wanted to live like other young people in the western world. They weren't doing anything wrong except ignored their fathers culture such as wearing something over their face. He murdered them for that. But these things are against the law in this country. If Pakistan wants different laws for their citizens then it isn't the same? If we go to other countries we must follow the laws of that country.

@antonbunot I think there needs to be more help in understanding different cultures, laws and social behaviours. I just try to reverse it.

@JudyEv No, that was not me. I like the phrase "take care". It shows that someone does. Enjoy your trip. Take lots of pictures. I always enjoy them.

@ElizabethWallace Because most of the countries are run by men maybe? We're leaving soon if I don't get back to messages. Will catch up when I get back. Take care. (Or were that person that thought telling people to 'take care' was condescending?) If so, be good instead!

We don't need this kind of legislation in the Philippines. Most men in Ilocos keep their wives as punching bags.

Your sarcasm isn't strong enough for me. I had to read your list twice to see that you were kidding. I think the World Court in the U.N. should condemn this legislation. What the heck is wrong with people?

@antonbunot I don't think about terrorism when I see people who are different from me, or Muslim. I do, however, have to hold my tongue. I once had a "talk" with a Muslim man in Paris. It was very hot, he and I were in shorts and t-shirts, but his wife was head to toe in black wool.

some countries need to come into the 21st century already. the treatment of woman all over the world is barbaric and inhumane in some cases. i'm afraid this wont stop until woman and men that love women stand up and start social change. people will die but social change never comes without bloodshed
