Is This How An Adult Behaves?

What would you think of a middle school or high school kid who called other kids sleazy, crazy, crooked, liars, and picked on them because of their size, nationality, or gender, made fun of their hair, teeth, skin color, and answered every challenge to his or her truthfulness with attacks on the intelligence of the person asking the questions? If you're like me, you'd think the child probably had less-than-perfect parents who didn't raise him or her to be respectful, or even decent. You might think the kid was immature or psychologically underdeveloped and in need of help or therapy. Either way, you probably wouldn't believe the student should be put in a position of responsibility or leadership until he or she grew up and learned to behave more like the young man or woman he was becoming and not a petulant and insulting adolescent. Now imagine this child gets older but doesn't grow up. In other words, doesn't mature, emotionally or socially. Is he or she someone you would want to work for? Would you want him or her teaching your children? Further, imagine this person eventually runs for President of the United States, having grown old physically but still that petulant, spoiled, insulting, veracity challenged adolescent of days past. Would you vote for this person? Would you want this person running your country?

@Lolaze I've never liked the idea of him as President. Then again, I never like him to begin with.

Gee, was it that obvious? I was just presenting a hypothetical situation. Odd how you immediately recognized The Donald in what I wrote.

He's tapped into their anger, discontent, bigotry, and xenophobia. His followers follow him because they think he will put everyone who supports him above all others in Trumpland (formerly the USA).

@DWDavis Sure! And they will live rich and happy for the rest of their days. It's incredible how people can be stupid.

What happens if people still vote him in after hearing about his failed university. How it shows the conman he truly is? All this talk about corruptness on both sides and they elect someone who is corrupt out in the open. I might say at least half of the population is corrupt also.

Trump's method of addressing anyone who criticizes him or discloses anything about his shady or questionable business dealings is to insult and belittle them, call them dishonest and unfair, and label them as Trump haters. Then he lies through his teeth and claims that the facts aren't the facts and reminds everyone how "great" he is.

Imagine a person like that negotiating with the world or having his fingers on the nuclear trigger or sending our troops into battle, etc. He is not fit or qualified for the office.

Imagine an emotional woman with the ability to send troops to battle. One bad hair day, one broken nail, one "hot flash" and...boom! She's not qualified, either. Can we just start over with some new candidates? Please?

And yet seemingly many American folk won't actually mind if this sort of person is voted in as leader of their poor souls.

When he gets us into a war with China, Russia, and ISIS all at the same time, then maybe they'll realize his bombastic rhetoric and off-the-cuff way of responding to anything and everything doesn't work for an American President.

Hmm... I wonder who this might be describing. Honestly I'm not terribly impressed with any of the remaining presidential choices. Glad I'm Canadian.

@DWDavis That obviously isn't happening seeing as I don't know who they are. Might make a point of looking it up tomorrow. Right now my bed is calling to me.

I think the Libertarian Party ticket is a good one. Both the Presidential and VP candidates are successful 2 term governors. If only they could get some attention from the media.

@DWDavis Well, they could start talking about building a wall along the Canadian border and having Canada pay for it, because you know those Canadians... Or calling for a moratorium on all—I don't know—Catholics?—entering this country until we sort this IRA thing out. Though we COULD make an exception for the Pope or something. That might get them some media attention. I know that has nothing to do with the Libertarian Party philosophy (...or reality BTW). I'm just retooling the meretricious lines from the well, media meretrix. [MyLot won't let me use the English word, I'm afraid]

No. Hillary gave a speech today where she asked Americans if they really wanted someone who reacts the way Trump does to the tiniest bit of criticism or disappointment by flying off the handle and having a tantrum to have his finger on the nuclear trigger.

Yes, because despite your obvious description, the alternative is a proven crooked liar and a socialist maniac to replace a proven liar.

@JohnRoberts Are you that in favor of a global war involving nuclear capable enemies? Kind of a dumb question. Why must you always resort to hyperbole? My DD-214 shows I served Honorably in our countries armed forces, so your veiled attempt to label me a coward falls far short of the mark. And you know better than to think I would ever vote for Hillary. However, very much like Mr. Trump himself, you have avoided answering either of my questions by personally attacking me instead. Oh, and thank you for complimenting me on my accurate description of Mr. Trump in your first response. I regret that you didn't recognize I was actually agreeing with you in my reply.

@DWDavis You are that terrified of another war? Then you should just take the safe route and vote Dem. You prefer more of the last eight years.
