Last Sunday, in our area, it has been a wine tasting day. The local wine producers opened their doors to promote their wines. With our friend, we have visited the closest to our home, just at five minutes walk. They had prepared, in the courtyard, long tables where there were the bottles of wine to taste, with cheese and bread to better appreciate the wine. It has been a nice occasion to taste two of their famous Merlot and a fruity light white wine that can be pleasant in summer. We had to cut short our visit, due to a sudden thunderstorm, but it has been a nice event. The photo shows the road leading to the wineries and the entrance to the right.

I love the look of your area. It is a wonderful combination of greenery and buildings, many with natural elements like stone. We have less and less greenery, since the water police are out in force due to our drought.

It's green because we have rain, we sure do not have the drought problem. The stone buildings were built many years ago, some of them more than 600 years ago.

@LadyDuck Which is why your country is so gorgeous. California is very dry and not very old. Anything "old" is torn down and replaced with something that is ugly and lacks charm.

@ElizabethWallace I am glad that the authorities have decided to keep the old mansions and farms. At most they re-do the whole interior to make the place more comfortable. If you look at my photo the stone house has modern windows with thermal glasses.

Wow, it's a beautiful place . Just look at those houses that seemed to be made of stones . That should be the houses here because we are always visited by typhoons .

Those houses are in fact made of stones, they are very old, the main building is more than 200 years old.

How lovely that you were able to walk to the winery. Ours don't usually serve bread and cheese although that would be a really nice idea.

@JudyEv This is something very strange here, in the restaurants they are not obliged to give you free water.

That sounds fun. People go on bus trips around here to tour the wineries. There are so many around the New York area. That area you photographed is beautiful!

There is such a peaceful look about the place you stay. I'm glad that while redoing the place you keep the old world charm intact. It reminded me of Landour a tiny hill station where we had gone for a holiday in North-West India. The author Ruskin Bond lives there.
