NC woman finds body in freezer

I am not sure which is worse, the fact that I've heard of this happening before, or the fact that the woman took three weeks to open the freezer. A woman bought a freezer from a neighbor's yard sale. The neighbor said there were some things in it that a local church would pick up. Let me stop there. First of all, why would the woman be selling a freezer that had things in it? Secondly, why hadn't the buyer looked into it before even handing over any money? Normally, you look at the freezer, inside and out. Is it going to be big enough for your purposes? Is it cleaned well, no dents etc. Obviously, unless it remained plugged in, you aren't going to know how well it works... That's the gamble. Anyway, they (the police) are looking into the matter....
A North Carolina resident bought a freezer for $30 dollars at her neighbor's yard sale — only to find the body of an elderly woman inside.

I am sure this woman is a liar. Everybody would have checked what there is inside the freezer before paying for it.

@LadyDuck The article says that the deceased DID die of natural causes but it still raises the question as to why they didn't notify the proper people of the demise. However, aren't there supposed poisons etc that do not come up in testing? Hollywood atleast makes us believe there are such a thing.

@LadyDuck It's assumed that the neighbor who sold the fridge / freezer did. It's a very crazy case all the same.

@LadyDuck This is true but I'd surely hope that wasn't the case. Of course that could also be considered neglect on the part of the family...

Ick! I would have to check inside. Freezers are hard to clean if they haven't been for awhile. The buyer obviously isn't a conscientious buyer.

Definitely not! I don't understand WHY she didn't open the freezer before even handing over the money. I'd have done so before even negotiating a price!

Crazy that they didn't look inside before handing over the cash. I wonder if the neighbor she purchased it from was in their right mind.

Hard to believe? Very strange! Can you do a follow-up on the story?

It creeps me out a bit, but I am more concerned with how the woman didn't notice before. I've never bought a second hand freezer I haven't looked in first.

That does sound fishy. When I buy anything in person I always look inside and out.
