National Chocolate Ice Cream Day

Don't worry, the banks and post office will be open so have no fear! This is another made-up holiday, I assume started by some ice cream company! But it sure is a holiday I will participate in.
Chocolate ice cream is my favorite flavor. Once in a blue moon I will buy strawberry but that's about it for me.
The real shocker that comes out of this 'holiday' is that chocolate is not the number one favorite ice cream flavor. Vanilla is the winner of that category. I am not a vanilla person, never was. To me vanilla is a little on the boring side unless you use it as a base for fresh sliced strawberries or some rich chocolate sauce.
It is said that people who drive white cars (vanilla color) are boring. I know a few people who did drive or currently have white vehicles and yes, they are rather boring people. Our neighbor drives a white truck and yes....he is boring - but I got off track here didn't I?!
OK, now that I've made all the vanilla fans out there angry, it must be time for me to boogie on out of here - I need to check the freezer for chocolate ice cream!

@AbbyGreenhill Yes, that does seem to be the case. In my house, we have an unbirthday birthday cake. It's fun and great if you crave one out of nowhere!

Blue bell makes an amazing homemade vanilla, but most of the time, the only way I like vanilla is in a malt

I bought ice cream yesterday. My son doesn't like chocolate, so I compromised with Chocolate revel. So I will definitely indulge in this holiday as well. I agree, people who like vanilla, must be as boring as the ice cream. There now I've made them angry at me too

Well said, but only if you can convince people it`s as important as Christmas and they have to buy expensive presents they can barely afford otherwise it`s not worth it.

People with white cars must like cleaning. I like an occasional vanilla flavored something but it is pretty boring. Most chocolate isn't that great either. I like the fancy ones with chocolate liqueur and has a good flavor, where most just have cocoa flavor.

The Magnum bars are out of this world, delish dark chocolate. I like most chocolate as long as it it isn't Hershey's.

@AbbyGreenhill .Chocolate ice cream is my favorite flavour too. Occasionally I do try out something else BUT very rarely.After peering into the cold storage and seeing all the different flavors and colors , I say"Give me chocolate".

That is my absolute favorite. Years ago (when I was thin) I would make a devils food cake and put a scoop of that ice cream on it - pure heavedn.

My favorite ice cream is also chocolate ice cream. We have two cars... they are both white and the reason is very simple, the Datsun Z280 was imported in very limited quantity, impossible to have another color. The small Ford Fiesta was in stock when we needed a second car, for a different color we had to wait 4 months. As a matter of fact, in both case it was not a choice. All our previous cars were not white.

@AbbyGreenhill In Europe you get more or less what they have in stock or you wait for months. Our previous car was maroon, the Jaguar was fern grey and our little Mini Morris was chocolate.

I see very few white cars around here, lots of white pick up trucks however. Your situation as to color is different than we experience here. Our last car was deep burgandy - we had to pay extra for the color. I think that's a rip off.

I did have an ice cream cone earlier today. Sugar cone, vanilla ice cream with chocolate coating on it and some fudge inside the vanilla. It was pretty good!
