Hello MyLotters! This is the second time I wrote this discussion. I accidentally refresh the page when I wrote this the first time. Is there no automatic saving here at MyLot? Anyway I was about to tell you that I am drooling for ripe mangoes. Last Sunday when I was skyping with my father, cousin and small nieces, they showed me fresh harvested mangoes from my garden. I was not the one who planted it as I was still living in Ireland when my father planted it in our front yard. Well, the land is mine and since 2011 I was making the front yard my garden. Two years ago, the mango tree was still small and I kept talking to this tree and to my other plants when I was there. I belive that through my care and talking with them, the plants grow well and yes, they do. Now I am drooling for my own mangoes and my relatives told me that there are still plenty of young and green mangoes hanging on the tree and they are pretty sure that I will still be able to harvest some of the ripe mangoes. I hope so. Are you also drooling for some kinds of fruits just right now?

They can also use the ripe mango to make into lassi or smoothie or something else. I sure hope that I have a piece of land to plant mango tree. I love to eat mango, but we live in high rise apartment.

Unfortunately I am allergic to mangoes, what I would like right now are fresh berries, no matter which ones, strawberries or raspberries will be fine.

@thelme55 I have heard several people with this allergy, it seems it's pretty common. The reason is due to the content urushiol, an irritant and oily substance present in the mango fruit.

Our native mangoes are very sweet and delicious, specially those harvested in Guimaras Island, Zambales and Pangasinan in the northern Philippines. When you come home, you can still harvest from your trees? Good thing!

I love mangoes which are sweet and sour, not just sweet. Also the flesh must be firm and must emit a delicious smell. The seed should be as thin as possible. I've eaten some with razor thin seeds. I've always wonder how they managed to cultivate mangoes like these. Anyway, just thinking of those wonderful and succulent mangoes makes my mouth water too.
