I have doubts on him

My Dad called me early in the morning, asking if I brought a sack of rice to our house. I answered him immediately, no, I haven't. When I reached at my parents house this morning, I saw our adoptive brother and my Dad talking, heard them talking with high pitch and loud voices, it seems they are far from each other why their voices are so loud. I asked them to talk softly and in moderate voice. My Dad suspected our adopted sibling who get the sack of rice and asking him many times and yes, he accepted it that he get a sack of rice because he gives it to his family who lives in his in laws. I told him, why are you not asking permission to our father, it seems you steal from them and he cried and asked forgiveness to my Dad. Glad he did ask forgiveness to my Dad. I told him not to do it next time or else, I'll be force to report it to the police and he promised. Until this time, I have doubts that he did not bring the rice to his family, maybe he sold it for his vices. I hope, I'm wrong of my doubts. What are your thoughts on this matter friends?

I agree that he should have asked permission, but I cannot express my opinion about what he did with the rice, because I do not know him.

If he took it without permission, I doubt he is hiding something lo. Otherwise he should ask for it, sure your father will give.

Yes, our father will surely give it to him if that is intended for his family but for someone, will, am sure my father won't tolerate it.

I doubt it also that he gives it to his family but he should ask permission first to my Dad or even to me so that when someone is going to check it, then I can also say that it was given to his family or to others.

I really don't understand why there are people like that. Instead of showing gratitude, they even have the nerve to steal.

I can't understand them especially the wife where all there needs and expenses where shouldered by my parents and she has the nerve to do it to my parents, stealing the amount intended for the memorial plan and also our adoptive sibling is also doing the same thing, he steal a sack of rice for his vices.

That is my plan, to ask the wife if he really send a sack of rice to them because if not, then he sold it for his vices.

Although I am sure he stole the rice, I can't offer any opinion. I don't know him or his vices.

i guess talking to him heart to heart is already useless. why not let him live his own life but not living still under your parents' home?

@ida123 right, pity them than sympathize with them, because they have to work for their life and not depend on your parents' money

Where do you keep those sacks of rice? Maybe it is better if he will no longer have access to it.

after the harvest, we milled it and keep it in our stock room. it happens when we get a sack of rice for our consumption and put it outside, we forget to close the stock room, i think he got the chance to take that sack of rice. we keep the key of our stock room but he got the chance to have the rice and we found out that the sacks of rice is lacking

I don't know the kind of person he is. So I can't say that he sold it or gave it to his family. If he has vices, then maybe, that could be a reason.

I think the sack of rice was really bought by him, but he only took part of the money on rice, he may use other amount to buy what he likes. Rice is just one of his excuse.

I totally agree. He should asked permission. I do not think that you and your parents will be greedy not to share. Sometimes, fear and pride makes a person do things that is not right

I hope he isn't a thief and that he needed it for his family. But if he has a 'vice' of some sort then he might go to any lengths to get the money he needs.

That is what I'm thinking, maybe he sold it for his vices and that's what I'm going to check so that this bad deeds he did can be cut immediately or else he will be force to join his family in his in laws.

Well, I can't say no or yes but we are only human. No one is perfect in this world and anybody can commit mistakes and has the chance to change his life if he wants it.
