Why did I answer?

Philippines
June 18, 2016 9:22pm CST
This is probably the weirdest "wrong number call" I've ever got. But what's surprising is that this came from our neighborhood. When I took the phone she told me "why did I answer" and she said okay, then dropped it You usually hear people say "sorry wrong number" but this was her response, knowing that I'm her neighbor. I thought it was rude at first but then I just let it slide. Anyways, Have you folks had this experience?

@Marty1 most of the line phones here have free Caller ID but the phone unit they give doesn't have that feature.

I recently got a call from whoever looking for some guy. I recognized the last name of the guy he mentioned but not the name so i said 'no, this is not his number'. Then the call ended. After a minute, the same number called again and asked the same thing knowing im the same person who answered his call a minute ago. I let it go but then he rang me again. This time i didnt answer and blocked the number right away.

Just go to your recent calls received, find that number and go to options then find Block Caller or Block Number, depends what you have on the phone. Not all phones have this feature though.

Hello @MGjhaud how do you block the number? I didn't know you could do that. I think he's doing it on purpose, glad you block it.

@Marty1 Hahaha! Maybe he was auditioning or something... and thought he might call you up and sing. He didn't realized it was a wrong number. Man got crazy ideas.

It never happens to me so far. I guess your neighborhood is preoccupied with many things in her mind. Or there might be something she wants to tell you that she is reluctant to tell? Or maybe she just pressed a wrong number. Too many reason I think.

@Letranknight2015 When you are calling someone, there is a third party answering too. It is like a group call using a landline. That's a bit weird too.

I had one. It was one morning when a woman, probably on her late 40s or 50s, called me up and asked, "Andyan ba asawa ko?" (Is my husband over there?) I just said she got the wrong number but she sounded like she's still in doubt, but I had to tell her again she got the wrong number and dropped the call. After that, I just laughed. She must be thinking I was with her husband.

Hello @brokenbee What an idiot woman thinking she called the number of her hubby's mistress. I mean we all used to have a number tracker a few years back.

Calling the wrong number is ok, but the point is that the person act so rude. They should say who they are and looking for whom. Instead they just switch off. I feel bad, no education .

@Martxxxy1 There are telephones lines like us here we have 010, 011, 012, 013 xxxxx, sometime press 010 instead of 011, then is a wrong connection lol, when I heard someone not familiar, I will say I am looking so and so, if the answer is I don't know. Then I know may be a mistake and I say sorry. So people will be happy and answer back, that Ok.
• Philippines
20 Jun 16
Well, she knows who I am @Chungshop I would have expected an apology or some what. but you're right, she had no education so she probably don't know how to respond well.

Hello @josie_ not really but for sometime she was a bit of an opposition to my mom ever since she joined their christian organization, while this neighbor had been on it for years. I was a child hood friend of his son, though. it's not hate relationship.
19 Jun 16
Can't decide whether what happened with you was weird or funny. I've had some weird wrong number calls too. When someone keeps on insisting that they dialed the correct number and you're like "no, I'm not that person and I don't even know who you are talking about" ! And the cross connections are really irritating. You're expecting to hear a familiar voice but then some unknown person picks up the phone and you're like "what the hell!"

Hello @nightSky19 some people are just too stubborn to even realize they got the wrong number. I'm just glad that didn't last long with the latest call.
