No, it's not what you think...LOL
We had one of those cheap hoses out front - you know the kind - they kink up if you look at them sideways. Well, with the lack of rain I've been fighting that hose trying to keep things in the front from dying. I had enough.
After taking the car in for an oil change this morning we stopped at Lowes to buy a good hose. When we got home I told him, 'You watch, hook up that new hose and it will rain."
He hooked it up, we had lunch and I went in the pool. The sky got dark and guess what - it rained! Not a lot or for long, but at least the garden got some water and I I have no need to try out the new hose - therefore, I got hosed!

I was gifted a nice hose that wont kink and I adore it! I have a warranty and the recipe so if it gets a hole I get a new one, best gift ever!
I want some of that rain!

It didn't last long, the garden got wet and hopefully the sun won't dry it up right away! Those hoses aren't cheap but they are worth it in the long run.

It sure is. I think it could also have been just dumb luck!

@AbbyGreenhill I feel a sharp pain in my right elbow (the one I broke when I was a kid). I guess I am not wrong, we have to expect a thunderstorm.

I wish it was that easy I'd wash every vehicle in the county.

lol, if'n only such worked 'round here, i'd fork o'er the funds fer a new hose 't least e'ery couple'f weeks. i can empathize with yer hose issue though. i've quite a few'n such shape myself. they don't make'em like they used to. e'en the "kink-free" hoses'll do such 'fter a few years. i reckon they know that folks'll not keep their receipt fer such, so 're most happy to put a "'or yer money back" thingy'n the wrappin' jest to tempt'ja to purchase.
so glad'ja got a spot'f rain - e'ery lil drop helps!

@AbbyGreenhill i've got 'bout 5 'f those...prolly'd last longer if'n the hubs would'a drained 'em o'er winter (which i used to do, need 'em to water the horses year round) 'n'd stop drivin' o'er 'em out'n the pasture :) these're out'n full sun all day's well.

Our dog loves the hose and probably would have chewed as a puppy if she had been close enough to do so.

Ha, ha, that is just like when you take the car to the car wash and spend the money to wash it, and then the next day it rains!

washing the car is a sure way for it to rain here, as well as putting off mowing a day, the new mowing day will rain

Probably a cheap way of getting it to rain! Of course, the other way to get it to rain is to wash the car.

We just bought a kinkless hose a few months ago. Our outdoor water spigot had not worked for the past few years due to some leaking. We replaced the spigot (it was very old) in March with a new frost free spigot and while it was still cold out, I tried to use the existing hose to spray wash out the cat's litter box. NOTHING but hose kinks and freezing cold hands! So we bought a kinkless hose in anticipation of planting new flowers in the late spring. I have only used it a few times, but I think I am going to need to break it out again tonight.
