Mosquito Mortality

I heard that most mosquitoes don't die of natural causes. Does that hurt anyone's feelings? How would you like to be one of the most reviled creatures on the planet where everyone has it in for you? Any sympathy out there at all?
Slap!
I didn't think so.

find myself wondering if a mosquito can die of malaria - they get no sympathy from me

I don't think they can but wish they could. No malaria here though so it wouldn't actually help us.

Our mosquito netting is up. Nothing worse to have the buzzing of mosquitoes keep you awake all night.

Any sympathy I might have for them quickly disappears in their presence.

@koopharper was delighted by a pretty fly that appeared on my forearm one summer day in the days when I was so pure. Dear what could it be. Isn't nature so grand? Guess what happened next.

The season is a bit late this year. They will arrive with a vengeance though.

@koopharper You have to make sure that you don't have stagnant water.

@marlina We live near one of the largest saltwater marshes in Canada. No stagnant water here to speak of.

You are right, no sympathy and as I write this down ...Slap, there goes another one targeting my feet. I guess they know my hands are busy typing so they can safely have their 'pint' of blood.

Slap! The season for them is on the up swing. It is getting hard to concentrate on writing in the evenings.

I'll just keep wearing my bug repellent to keep the nastys away. Hate slapping them because a slap for them is a slap on you.

We're trying some essential oils in strategic places. It seems to help but again the season is just getting started.

I've never heard that before, but I suppose it could be true]although I'm not really all that concerned to check it out for myself. Kill all of them that you can, that may make my job a bit easier.
