Oh my goodness! Last year about this same time we found that we had bedbugs. We went through HELL getting rid of them. I thought that I could get rid of them so I didn't report them right away. They would come out at night and bite me. The other two didn't seem to be affected as much as I was. Later come to find out that on the side of my bed, back corner, was a infestation of them. Horrible!! (Covered the corner. ) It was like a horror movie on steroids. But, when we finally did report them we were told we would have to get every thing moved out and put stuff we wanted to save in garbage bags. At that time we had a lot of 'stuff so it took us a couple of weeks to do this. So, we did what I now called The Purge of 2015. We got rid of nearly everything we owned. Stuff that now I wish we had saved. We had our clothes and needed items in garbage bags in the kitchen. The exterminator came three times. We had no beds and slept on the floor through out the exterminating time period of about three weeks. It was horrible and I had night mares about those things for several weeks after ward. I still shiver whenever I think about them. Now we have cockroaches. Confirmed by me a little bit ago. I got up to go to the bathroom and saw one scurry across the floor. I called Emergency Maintenance and he told me we had to wait until Monday and someone will come out. So, now I have experienced head lice in the mid 90's(all the woman in my family have long hair so the bugs kept coming back until I learned how to rid us of them), bed bugs in 2015 and now cockroaches. Ooooooh!! I am grossed out now and have to go try to contain myself.

I have so far never had bedbugs. I find myself wondering, since they are a beetle type bug, if they would be gotten rid of with the stuff we use for potato bugs in the community garden. That is mustard seed, minced garlic, and cloves steeped as a tea and sprayed. In my grandma's time they put all the bedding out in the sun every spring to kill bed bugs.

Bed bugs are extremely tough. I doubt this stuff you used for the potato bugs would kill them. I recall the bedding going out in the spring. They can actually live a year or more without oxygen. For head lice I was told to put all the kids stuffed animals and such in a air tight bag for a certain amount of time. I was told this wouldn't work for bed bugs.

we have to keep traps out for those kinds of bugs, as every now and then some will find their way inside

I think the heat is what has brought them out.

They sure are. And the heat is really going to bring them out now.
