It's very hot here, especially inside my mobile home. I haven't had my swamp cooler repaired in 2 years so it's only fans, noisy fans. Last year I thought I'd have the dang thing fixed but money ran out .... one guy quoted $395 to get it up n running Ok, the fans work as long as I put em in the middle n point them towards an open window, well kinda work anyway they keep the air moving. On the bright side, I have my own private sauna and if I had toxins in my body I've surely sweated em all out by now ..... don't worry, I drink lots of mineral water laced with pure lemon juice with no sugar. Here I go again, next year I'll get that cooler fixed ***where's the icon with the crossed fingers?*** I still don't know why I got up at 4am .... maybe I just needed to talk to someone

We are sweating here today, it's hot and humid and we do not have A/C, but I have placed my fan blowing in my direction.

I have my fans blowing out the windows, it's the only way I could think of to get the hot air out of here.

Oh how I wish our mountain air was that fresh @LadyDuck we did get a little rain yesterday but it was too hot for the air to be all that fresh.

@rebelann We have a thunderstorm right now, with a pleasant fresh air coming from the mountains.

Oh that stinks. We don't have A/C except in the bedrooms, so cooking in the kitchen is awful, but at least I can sleep comfortably. Have you considered getting your cooler fixed in the middle of winter? Maybe the price will be lower or better yet, look for one someone is selling at the end of the season.

I just need to have so much fixed to get that cooler going. One thing will cost me and that's the electric connection that somehow blew out the last time I tried to use it. It's a really good cooler but right now money is a wee bit tight, maybe I'll have enough next year.

@rebelann I understand about money issues, it seems like we are always struggling for something, like now it is the car that needs new (or better) tires. Do you have a freecycle or a garage sale page on Facebook? Or even Craig's list may have something that will help you. And if for some unfortunate reason you got nothing by the end of the season, perhaps you can find something then, because stores want to clear out inventory or people who upgraded and haven't gotten rid of their older, but still usable, system wants to get rid of it for cheap if not free, just to get it out of the house. And I suggest you ask around. Many times you will find someone who knows another who has one.

I've been checking around for decent priced electricians but they are all very expensive and some won't work on mobile homes @Carmelanirel2 it'll all work out though, I have a few fans and plan to buy another one this payday so that I can at least blow out the house a little, sounds odd I know but the good thing about this area is that we don't have a lot of humidity so blowing out the house won't be that hard.

I'd hate to live in heat like that with no efficient cooling system. I feel for you my friend.
