He was a college voice major, raised on a Wisconsin dairy farm, who recorded several acclaimed jazz/pop albums with a retro sound. He also had acted on Broadway before being tapped for his role on TV that made him an icon. He still acts on film, television and stage. Some Broadway credits include “The Trip To Bountiful” with Cicely Tyson, Tony nominations for roles in “Annie Get Your Gun” (1999) and “A Catered Affair” (2008.) He was also in “Django Unchained” in 2012 and his latest film, “Fair Haven” in 2015 The answer is: Tom Wopat, who played Luke in the “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

@IreneVincent when you mentioned his name then I remembered how women used to sigh over him and John Schneider in Dukes of Hazzard.

I only knew he was on the "Dukes of Hazzard." So I was fascinated to find out these additional facts about him.

@IreneVincent We were in an area with no TV reception then, when we could get TV, for quite some time we could only get the ABC and no commercial stations.

You may not have heard of him at all in India. But, he was famous here in the US for his role in "The Dukes of Hazzard" a TV show that was very popular. Your country has FAMOUS actors too, I'm sure.
