Well, I'll stop complaining now. The deck is coming along. My husband is doing a good job, but he has had a lot of guidance from my daughter's boyfriend. You may notice the two different shades of stained wood. Hubby started to put a second coat on some of them, so the colour is darker (and not orange). He will do the second coat on the others once the deck is built. I originally thought this was going to take all summer to accomplish but it looks like he may get it done before August. I say August because we are all leaving this weekend for a wedding in hubby's family and he will be staying there for 10 days (my daughter and I are returning Monday). There is still the discussion of railings and steps. There will be steps on both sides. It is hugging the pool nicely. The previous deck was half this size. I have to admit, he's doing a good job, with the boyfriend's guidance. Have to give credit to him.

I am glad the second coat of stain has improved the color as well as the coverage. It looks like they are doing a great job.

They kept the foundation of the original deck and did a bit of reinforcement and of course expansion, and are building off of that. It sure helped.

I know you were very despondent at the start. And the timber seemed orange so I'm glad it's all looking better now. The steps might take a while to do. They always look complicated.
