It took "3" employees to find my package. Horrible Service at UPS today!

We drove 15 minutes to the UPS facility to pick up a package & ended up leaving 40 mins later when we "should" have been in&out < 5 mins...
It wasn't a busy day. 4 employees - 2 cashiers, 2 others were just hanging out. I'm not a "regular", so when an employee asked how may she help me, I told her I'm here to pick up a package & provided my tracking #. She told me to wait by the bench while she gets it.
Guess what? She kept popping in/out saying she can't locate my package. She even got another set of eyes helping her..
- Well okay.. -
While *they* locate my package. The other employee told us, we should went to them because the lady & "the other set of eyes" won't be able to locate my package. He even offered to help the two searching for my package when they were popping in/out, and they denied his help, saying they already got it.
At this point, my boyfriend & I were furious. We saw customers coming in/out in > 5 minutes picking up their package fine.
After 40 whole minutes literally: She apologizes for not being able to locate our package & she did all she could + the extra set of eyes and if we can provide her our #. She will call once the package is located..
First off, no.
The other employee is offering to help and I want his help. She said typically only "one" person is to locate a package. Well, that isn't my concern - you cannot do your job properly.
Then, I questioned her, when will my package be found? She told me when there is down time, they will look for it.
- Hello? There is NO CUSTOMERS. It is down time right now. -
Finally, a different employee just sped off and went to go search for it. You could hear him in the background go Ha-Ha. Then the employee that told us a heads up saying they won't find the package, came out and said he got it!
I thanked the guy and left.
I was beyond upset. It took the guy less than 5 minutes when these "two sets of eyes" took over 40 minutes. They were trying to kill time at work or actually searching for the package? Seriously - the most horrible service ever and she had the nerve to tell me, they will search for the package when it is down time. I was going to request to speak to the manager.

@infatuatedbby I believe that the hour of the day and a short description would be enough for the manager to know who they are.

I am sure the two ladies will hate the guy for sure.
It seems that the two ladies are higher in rank or longer in service than that guy, and perhaps they are not the ones with "hands-on" with searching for items even when it is their jobs.
It is always the case in the corporate world.
You have to ask the one at the bottom rung to do the job.
Those who are holding supervisory duties or managerial duties are completely useless when it comes to such matter.

@infatuatedbby I just hope that the man is not the one who hides the package somewhere and the two ladies cannot find it in the usual place.

@scheng1 You are right, but I doubt he hide mine because he was busy helping another customer. But he could have placed some packages before hand hidden between something.

The two employees were older and I am sure they worked their longer and think they're "boss". The man kept going, I will be happy to help and they both denied his offer.
That is not right ~ if you cannot find it, seek for help or do something else instead prolong a customers time.

I am loving your new profile picture
Yes, the service was horrible. I was not going to go home without my package. I had to drive out of my way because UPS does not deliver to USPS. For the lady to have the nerve to tell me she will look for the package during her "down time". Psh!

@magallon Yes, they were just complaining they cannot find it. And claim someone may misplace it but its somewhere in the facility.

@infatuatedbby Oh I see. So maybe they are just lazy to look for your box. They should not be working there. They are not willing to help people.

If she knew how to do her job properly, I wouldn't have to wait that long. It took the other employee 5 minutes to get it. What took her so long?
Did she want to waste work time? Pretend she can't find the package, ask for another set of eyes and they both took a break or what. Unacceptable!

I think that I would talk to a manager. Things like this won't get better unless people report such things. Glad you found your package.

I did ask for the manager as they kept popping in and they said they have two sets of eyes. I was not leaving my number until I speak to a manager as it was unacceptable. The third employee overheard even though at first he rejected looking for it because two people searched but he did anyway. And found it!

Yes, that was not right on their behalf to say something like that when there was no activity in the store at all.

Yeah there are so many issues with UPS, one of them is they tag package as delivered even if the package is still on transit, there are also times that they tagged your package as incorrect address even if your address is correct.. I really hate UPS a lot.

Most likely those workers who could not find your package were not really looking for it! Or they are just plain stupid.

Yes, you are right! My previous rants are about USPS, (United States Postal Service). Today's rant is about UPS (United Parcel Service).
This by far is the most worst experience I have ever encountered.

Yes the workers are purely lazy. Two sets of eyes for 40 minutes while a man gets it in less than 5.

Lazy employees. If the guy found it immediately the other two sets of eyes weren't even looking, maybe half baked trying.

My boyfriend brought up that they could just be lazy and did not even search. That means 40 minutes of resting time for them or what?
The package was just an envelope they couldn't see it. Unacceptable if another person tried and it took him less than 5 minutes.

they don't seem to take work seriously, this is why people complained a lot. i bet some of them are not regular employees.

Yes they aren't thankful they have a job and seem to be lazy! I cannot believe two sets of eyes weren't able to find the package within 40 minutes. Where one worker took less than 5 minutes!

They ended up finding it after I mentioned, how can you possibly not look for it. There is no one here , so another worker went to go look for it. And he found it in less than 5 minutes compared to two people taking 40 minutes and getting no where!!

I have had it happen to me at Fed Ex, and UPS, right now I am still waiting on Fed Ex to get here, it is almost 8 pm and still waiting for a package to be delivered. If they could give an approx time it sure would help.
