"It is a magical thing for a handful of words, artfully arranged, to stop time. To conjure a place, a person, a situation, in all its specificity and dimensions. To affect us and alter us, as profoundly as real people and things do."
~ Jhumpa Lahiri
Greetings arrived in abundance on Monday with postcards and letters from new pen-pals living in far off lands.
I am truly blessed, which reminds me that even though I sit in my island of "Me", I am never alone - the words come in magical handfuls and give me warmth, comfort, love and company on any long day I cannot endure.
The most wonderful thing of exchanging the written word - companionship!
Thank you Debs @crazyhorseladyex for the beautiful postcard of New Mexico's sunsets . . it truly looks like a land of enchantment.
I am off to Lawn bowling soon, but shall be back to chat later - leave your calling card!

beautiful quote, ms. lany! yer so adapt't sendin' me off wonderin' if'n i've encountered these folks 'fore - sometimes yes, sometimes not. i add 'em to my "list" 'f folks to go out'n seek more gentle wisdom from.
so glad'ja enjoyed the postcard, hon. i thought'f ya when i saw't. i loved the orange cast 'pon the waters. there's much diversity here'n new mexico - from flatlands that look to be wastelands durin' drought (like now...) to sand dunes so white they blind the eye. mountains, gorges, arroyos, mesas 'n buttes abound. 'n then there's those skies that jest melt'cha with their beauty.
big hugs!

@Inlemay yer most welcome! i read such 'n was touched by yer kindness :) one'f my favorite thingies to do here's let the native grasses mature, watch their seedheads dance with the winds. imagine the folks from the past who used to look'n awe'n wonder't such simple, yet majestic beauty. indeed such makes one feel 'live 'n somehow a bit more connected with mother earth. a quiet peace always o'ercomes me.

Big hugs Deb and thank you for my new one that arrived yesterday - I have just posted on it. Watching the gentle breeze in our lands of wild grass is also something most wonderful to observe and feel - feel in the sense the the brush of the wind on the skin makes you feel alive.

Here is my calling card. I have two postcards this week. One from @Sueznewz2 and one from @JudyS. They are both beautiful cards. The one from New Mexico is gorgeous! I love sunsets as much as sunrises.
