The road rage is defined as the uncontrolled anger among the motorists leading to violence causing grave injuries and even deaths. The already stressed and frustrated individual due to his work and personal problems gets even more stressed sitting in the idle traffic. That is why when they try to hurry, they get in an accident of some sort leading to a confrontation. As their patience is already running thin, this result in violent altercations. Hence there are increasing numbers of the injuries and deaths. The poor maintenance and poor organization of the whole traffic system also contributes to this issue. The road networks are poorly planned and unorganized at the best. When the road aren't maintained properly and aren't taken care of, they become riddled with potholes and pits. People in general avoid such roads and hence the more the people avoid such road, the more the number of people using the alternate routes increases. This again brings us back to the issue of traffic jam. There is also a question that arises in mind regarding the public transport. Why is it not used? It can save the general public the money they spend on fuel. It can ease up on the traffic jams too. The reason behind more and more people preferring personal transport than the public one is due to the low number of transits available than the number of passengers. Due to this, transport buses and trains get congested too. That is why people prefer personal vehicle to avoid traveling in such tight situations. Also the timings of this transport aren't set in stone which leads to upsetting the schedules of people working in different sectors. {Photo by Pixabay)

We have a road rage problem in the USA, also. It was on the news last night. They said that 84% of drivers surveyed were involved in at least one road rage incident in the last year. Some of these were yelling and horn beeping. Some drivers rammed each other. There have been terrible cases of road rage deaths. People are angry everywhere.

@akalinus I agree on that people are angry everywhere, But why they are angry? Too much stress. Really too much pressure.

@responsiveme This kind of scenario has become so common that now no one even bats an eye on witnessing this. How worse the situation has become can be estimated by that.

@responsiveme That made me remember an incident where our school bus driver was pulled down from his driving seat and beaten up. We were on our way back home from school when that happened.

@Daljinder I know, the people in our bus requested our driver to move on, which sensibly he did.

Happens a lot here in the US in a lot of the larger communities because of traffic congestion at its worst.

What you wrote made me think of all the problems in transportation. As a collective, I wonder what people want? Cities for people or cities for cars, trucks and buses?

@Daljinder I've noticed that some people of course not all people wash and pamper their cars and abuse and hurt their love ones. But the majority of people I think just want to live and be happy.

@Bluedoll That's a good question really. Do they want accommodations for a machine or the livings?

Yes, there are a lot of reasons that lead to road rage. It looks like your country is soon going to be a lot like here as your country realizes the need for good roads and construction starts, then it will get meaner as people will need to find even more alternate routes to get to their destination. We have public transportation but it isn't used as much because people prefer their own vehicles. It takes a long time to get anywhere that way.

@just4him Even if the personal vehicle usage is limited, there aren't enough public transits available.

@Daljinder Maybe I don't understand what it's like because I don't drive yet but I actually get annoyed when I'm watching drivers get annoyed. They get annoyed at slow drivers, fast drivers, people learning, people walking too slow, people walking across the street, the way a car looks, the way a person is driving like oh my god just shut up, drive and concentrate on your own damn vehicle. Drive sensibly and maturely and get off other drivers backs!

@Daljinder lol well that's what my dad says. Whenever there are stupid drivers out on the road my dad will be like "Oh god people just go home! Where are you all out anyway?! Go home!"

In India, private vehicles should be banned on some roads.

sadly there's road rage most all places. folks seem to lose their minds'r somethin' once they get 'hind the wheel. get into that 'me' mentality 'n put a total disregard fer theirs'n others safety. we've no public transit where i live, 'tis a rural community. there's lots'f road rage, folks who plan poorly 'n those who don't obey the laws.

We are seeing more and more instances of road rage in Australia too. It seems impossible for road planners to keep ahead of the increasing traffic problems.
