I take a quick look at the comic section before I rush out. Nothing much seems to have progressed in the affairs of the PYT whose search for opening lines to hook her love interest, nudged my mind into opening lines of another sort. Oh well! , as a fellow myLotter @MarshaMusselman had remarked , "Comics are probably pretty much like soaps on tv where it takes a very long time to progress through each idea". I suppose there will be a closure one way or other to her relationship issues..... As for me, I need to follow the logical path to my discussion on 'opening lines' And , yes you guessed it rightly, this time I want to know how the story ends. What conclusions have left an imprint in my mind. Instantly I picture Scarlett O' Hara, down but not defeated as she declares, " After all tomorrow is another day".----Gone with the Wind.---Margaret Mitchell, And the poignant picture of Oliver jogging along the river reminiscing the past ,....... “Sometimes I ask myself what would I be if Jenny were alive. And then I answer I would also be alive."-----Oliver's Story,---- Erich Segal Then there is Dorothy after her wonderful adventures summing up 'homecoming' for every traveler, "From the land of Oz", said Dorothy gravely, "and here is ToTo too. And Oh! Aunt Em I'm so glad to be home".....Wizard of Oz----, L. Frank Baum More recently, from a series through which I have lived the past few years ,--The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.---Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.---J.K Rowling. Do share your thoughts on your favourite endings too. photo:free image from Pixabay

all wonderful picks, my friend. yer sure prone to taxin' my non-productive brain these days, lol. i fear i've not seen a good movie 'r e'en read a book that brings such passion 'n remembrance...how sad's that, eh? so, i'll jest say that my favorite endin' occurs e'ery day. the beautiful settin' 'f the sun, the nestlin' 'f the birds 's dusk descends. the quietness'n tranquility, the sounds 'f water tricklin' 'long the waterfall. a soft whinny from the pasture, the wind's 't gently sings'ts way through the trees 'n vines. a virtual lullaby'n the promise'f a better tomorrow. big hugs!!

LOL! Well, I guess I chose the wrong discussion to join here! I don't watch television or movies, normally... I do read a lot of books but I can't quote anything from them. I think I will go check out something else you've written. (smile)

I have a notification that says you commented on my response here, and I know I left one, but somehow it looks like it got deleted. I don't think I did that. I've refreshed twice to see if it shows up and hasn't. Odd thing, specially since my notifications say I said something here.

"I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is going to want to get out. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me." Maggie Carpenter from the Movie "Runaway Bride".

That line of Scarlet O' Hara sums up her character and her life. This is not the ending line but I love it “What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.” - Richard Bach in the Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

Casablanca is one of my favorite movies and tonight I am going to watch this movie again, to honor France, the country where I have lived 30 years. The final line is spoken by Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) (nightclub owner) to police boss Captain Louis Renault as they leave to join the Free French army in West Africa. “Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

The only one of those things you mention that I am familiar with is 'Gone With The Wind'. I never watched the 'Wizard Of Oz' though of course the characters have impinged on my consciousness over the years. And what is PYT?

SHeesh, I looked at this several times after seeing the notification, but even though I didn't think I remember this particular image, I didn't remember specifically what the first one was about. Therefore, I didn't realize this was a continuation of your thought in a sense. No wonder I couldn't find my response, I'd not read the whole thing through yet enough to respond, and if I had I would have seen the mention then. I actually did happen to notice that I was notified that you mentioned me, only, not that you commented on my response or comment. But, once I noticed that I ran out of time and had to run out the door to work. Do you remember all those opening lines you shared from the first post and here, do you remember all these closing lines without looking them up first? I'd have to get out my books to look it up for either group. THanks for the mention, btw.

Yes I do, you see I am what is called a bookworm .So all those characters are as alive to me as real people. If you feel you want to add something sometime about the closing lines I 'd begladto read it. Also, I had to mention you......your comment was the most appropriate thing in that context in my discussion

Good endings are the best part of the book after the hook causing you to read it.
