Very dark this morning

We started the day in the dark. Fortunately my alarm clock runs on batteries. Came back shortly after I got out of bed. I am grateful for that. I was beginning to look a little grizzled and shaving in the dark is not high on my list of things to do to start the day. Also wasn't sure I could spend anytime here before going to work.
Not sure what happened. The sky is clear and there is no wind to speak of. This is always a concern because we are on a line by ourselves. If the breaker at the end of our road is tripped we have to call it in. There is no one else affected.

Usually our power outages have an obvious reason: Weather. Strong winds or electrical storms during the summer, strong winds or freezing rain in the winter. Last night was clear and calm, not overly warm or cold.

@koopharper Our power outages are for the same reasons. It does make you wonder what happened that night.

@simone10 Especially considering how widespread it was.

Not if they have any other problems to deal with.

@koopharper That's the way it happened here. I hope you don't have any more problems with it.

This outage was just plain baffling. No apparent reason at all. Thankfully it didn't stay off.

To have comfortable time to get ready for work I get up at 4:30. We don't start getting light outside until it is getting closer to five. Even then the interior of our home is not bright. I'd love to finish the interior. Drywall and white paint would go a long way to brightening the place up.

@LadyDuck I don't think my daughter wanted to hold a flashlight for me. Partly my own fault. I was sick and because I had a couple days off I was doing the mountain man thing. Let myself get pretty scruffy.

@koopharper You get up very early. Same here, we start getting light around 5 in the morning, but it's not enough to shave, I am pretty sure.

No point really. They aren't likely to tell us.
:"Well, Tom over there fell asleep on the job and accidentally unplugged something when he fell out of his chair. It took a couple hours before anyone noticed. Have a nice day."

@koopharper That kind of honesty would be refreshing!

We all woke up when it went out. Funny that a couple of small lights going out would be noticed by most of a sleeping family. I went back to sleep until the alarm went off. Nothing I can do about it at that point no matter how it happened. The cause is still not known to us.

@CRK109 It really doesn't matter if it doesn't end up interfering with work or the functioning of the household.

@koopharper Now that I think about it, loss of power would definitely wake me up because of my cpap machine! It would stop with the loss of electricity so it would automatically wake me up! I guess the cause doesn't matter since it came back and you've all been fine since.

It's so hard if we don't have electricity in our house and we have a lot of things to do.

We gotten used to having it available. Thankfully we are not super reliant. We can manage for quite awhile without. It just isn't convenient.

It came back on before I headed out for work. It was a lot more wide spread than I would have expected. They lost power at work as well and someone said they lost in across the marsh in Amherst as well. They aren't even in the same province. No explanation as to why it went out.
