Anyone here who misses Mylot categories?

I remember when Mylot still have categories, it is easier to find people with the same interest with you. Now all we have are the tags. the tags were kind of limiting and not everyone were using them. I also miss the categories because I use to be able to make country specific discussions and the removal of categories lost me that privilege. I also love categories because I also subscribe to them so I am able to find new discussions of my favorite categories.

Isn't the categories the same with the search button now? I am using it sometimes. I just type in the topic that I want and different discussions about that topic pops out.

Having the categories in the old mylot was more organised though.

@jstory07 The search button is limited, with cageories I use to get hundreds of discussions to choose from.

I can't remember what it was like so kind of hard to say. Might be all over the board anyway for me but if you make tags work somehow that would be good.

I am getting unrelated topics with the tags though and the tags cant build communities. The removal of categories is the reason why there is lacking of Millennials here. tags were very limited when it comes to creating niches.

@Bluedoll I am getting unrelated discussions to what I am looking for. lets say I want to search about the horror videogame resident evil, I will get discussions about being evil or discussions about being a resident. The tags were not as satisfactory as the categories. Categories also managed to build small communities in Mylot. Now the communities are gone because things are more unorganized. Also categories is much better because it is easier to find the most recent ones of the topics related from your search.

I miss the categories. I think that it was easier to find discussions in the past. The old system was a bit messy because some people didn't check if the topic already existed when they created a new category. I think that fixed categories created by mylot would be best. They could also give the users the chance to suggest new categories.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I would like add a category about animals, but aside from that I think you have covered all of the important ones I think that categories would be a big help, and it would be easier to find discussions about the topics that we are interested in. Yes, it is true that many people placed posts about other topics in the anime category in Bubblews because it was the first on the list. I hope that we can avoid that situation if mylot ever decides to create categories again.

@Porcospino oh I forgo about animals, it is indeed an important category that can cover both pets and wild animals. I think we can afford that sitiuation from Bubblews if we have icons instead of a list.

I think these would be the best roster of fixed Category Cartoons,Anime and Animation Arts Music Movies Television Travelling Conspiracy theories Paranormal Politics Religion Food Education Gaming Sports Fashion History Science and technology News Family Personal Business Making Money Literature Reviews Mylot Europe Asia The Americas Africa The categies should be Icons so it wont be like in Bubblews were random discussions were posted in Anime because it is first alphabetically on a list.

I do. Without those categories things are a bit topsy turvy because I see everything though I don't want to see those that I couldn't relate to.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I used to laugh a lot with that category but never made my own discussion there.

Panda Spanking is the greatest Mylot category ever, People don't get what the category is about. But it became popular.

@toniganzon I also managed to make my own category and I managed to make it popular. You can imagine how broken hearted I was when it is taken away from me.

It'd be nice if we can have categories so the website can be organized.

There is were very limited and many tags are not helpful at all. Also unlike the tags, categories managed to create communities.

I don't really miss it, because people kept making duplicate images or interest which so hard to find the active ones.

Having fixed categories would have been a good option though.

I think I can do with the custom categories not coming back but having fixed categories will be awesome. It will build multiple communities.
