Sorry, but don't look if you get queasy easily. Doodles, the cat, pounced on this poor mole and left it as a not so pleasant surprise for me. Of course, I thanked him, then called my husband to kindly remove it the minute he returned home. The good news is that the mole, kicking on his back in this photo, finally flipped over and walked away. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about what happened to today's mole.

He tries to catch chipmunks, but is too slow, thank goodness. Poor Chippies! The moles can go.

@DianneN They probably have tunnels in the woodland area behind your property. We had them in 2012, and it drove us crazy! We were months trying to rid them of our property. And a sister-in-law had one get into the attic of her cottage, and they had to hire an exterminator, and he had a hard time, but they feared him chewing thru power lines and causing a fire.

@Juliaacv Yikes! Years ago we had tunnels all over our lawn. My husband tried bait in them. Sometimes it worked. Other times it didn't. Thank goodness for Doodles. He heard one today in a huge area of pachysandra in the backyard. He suck his face in, and yanked it right out. Then we walked away with his little face covered in grass clippings and bits of junk.

They certainly can! For some reason, we haven't had a tunnel in the lawn since Doodles has been spending time with us. I wonder what that reason could be? Lol!

Moles certainly are ugly creatures and are destructive when they tunnel in the yard. Good for Doodles protecting his territory

Moles can do a lot of damage to your lawn, so I wouldn't be too sorry for the one that didn't make it.

I really dislike the gifts the cats give us, I kn w I am suppose to be proud and love them more for them, but nope. They could just kindly eat the snakes, moles, and mice, not ever let me see them, I will just assure they are doing their jobs, I do not need proof.

No snakes for Doodles! He's smart enough to fear them. He also didn't eat the moles. It's the thrill of the kill for him! Lol!

Why are cats like that? Last time my adopted cat brought me a headless big lizard! I told my husband to remove it from the doorway.

We used to have a cat named Blossom who was always bringing little gifts to me, too. Often, like this mole, he wanted to bring them to me while they were still alive. Yeek!
