Dole Whip

Have you ever had Dole Whip? I've never had the real thing, but I found a recipe to make my own at home and omg it's A-mazing! It's ice cold and delicious and made with only two ingredients. My little blender didn't like the idea at first and then, once it began, it had fun whipping up some dole-licious dessert for me. I took a can of pineapple chunks (which is about 4 cups of chunks) and a cup of coconut milk or almond milk (I used almond, since I use it a lot, anyway). Freeze the pineapple first and then put them in a blender or food processor until smooth and you have dessert! Today has been our hottest day yet (and most humid), so it's the perfect evening to sit back and relax with this! I'm happy just wrapping my hands around the bowl! lol -Claudia image from pixabay

@CRK109 guess I'll have to pick up some pineapple and try it too. Would be a great alternative to my nightly dish of ice cream

@Marilynda1225 It's so refreshing and I've really come to enjoy it. I actually do prefer it to ice cream right now because it's not as heavy.

Sort of! You can actually make it any consistency you like. Less milk and it's more like an ice cream consistency to eat with a spoon. More milk and yes, you can have it through a straw!

I do the almond milk with bananas, vanilla and a touch of sugar. Never tried the doe whip.

That sounds delicious! I'm definitely going to try this with other frozen fruit. I have some peaches in the freezer right now and I'm sure those will be wonderful, too!

I used to have a dole whip when I visited the Disney park in California, it is delicious. I never tried to make my own. I have to try to make it, I would also use almond milk, coconut milk is too fat.

I'm going to make some tonight. It's the best way to cool down and if you can find a lower fat milk, and my almond milk is unsweetened, it's not a bad dessert at all.

My son likes canned pineapple maybe I will try making this for him. I am not a huge fan of it but I love fresh pineapple.

I was undecided about making it at first but after my first taste, I was hooked! I'm going to be trying the same recipe with other frozen fruits, too. I'm sure they will also be wonderful!

Wow, that's a nice way to make a dessert . It's of a different style because it has coconut milk , so i am sure t's delicious . I will try this also .
