One of the houses we do windows for has vines going up their brick home and every year they want us to trim the section two bricks before the gutters at the top> Thankfully< I"m not the one that has to do the work Today would have been the perfect day since it"s cooler. (Originally, this was a longer post but for some reason only the image and first paragraph was submitted and the rest lost to oblivion. I typed the first part on firefox and gave up and came back to chrome.) We've had a gentle rain for the last few hours and now all the growth around that house will be dripping wet, so we'll postpone it for another day instead. I"M going to try to get some errands done today before working later this afternoon I have to take my carpet replacement estimate to my insurance I should also get some receipts into the computer for our business and hope to get more mylotting in too This will be the first time that I"ve ever tried to be here the last days of the month when everyone else is here too We"ll see whether that works well or not Note; commas tend to be the symbol above and the same with periods at present I have to hit the caps lock to capitalize when desired

We don't have vines, but the ivy is very invasive. We try to keep it in check.

So, does the ivy only grow on the ground there/ These vines are probably a type of ivy. I can provide a picture once we do the job next month.

@MarshaMusselman Ivy grows everywhere - up trees, up the sides of houses, along fences, creeps along the ground etc.

Vine covered houses are pretty but they really do damage bricks and can take over the gutters, too.

Yes, and the guys I've had do the work but don't enjoy it much. We have to work around power lines and such too which are hard to see as they are also covered in vines. Thankfully, no one has been hurt doing it. When this posted it was missing half my text. I was editing it as you were visiting in case you're interested in the rest of my nonsense.

Those vines can grow so fast that it's hard to keep them trimmed properly.

I had a house years ago that had vines that were relentless in growing up the side of the house. Such a pain in the neck to keep them in check
