New granddaughter for my husband

There is a new baby in the family, she was born this morning. She's tiny, just 6 pounds 4 ounces. The last photo I saw of the mom you could hardly tell she was 'with child'.....I guess tiny babies are the in thing. Some of her friends stated on Facebook that they didn't know she was pregnant.
Since legally I can't use the photo she posted I won't be adding one here. She is a baby, she's wrapped up in a blanket and had a tiny hat on...and her name is Aliah. Don't ask me how to pronounce it, I have no clue. I was given the info in a Facebook message. I would have to 'hear' it to know how to say it.
Anyway, that's the big news for today.

Congratulations!
I looked up the name pronunciation: There's a button to hear it too, AA-L-iy-aa. I would have gotten it wrong.

Thanks. Nope, we are 850 miles and will only see them if they come down here. We only saw them once in the last 4 years.

@1creekgirl I don't Skype (don't have a clue how to and my husband doesn't use a computer at all) - we mostly communicate on Facebook.

@AbbyGreenhill Sorry they're so far away. There's always Skype and photos.

Congrats! Pretty name. Sure is big news. I think that small babies are much better medically now days. There used to be some concern but not that much anymore It has become more normal. So, now you want a grandson?

Not odd in his family. Hey, if I wasn't on FB we wouldn't have a clue. Sad...but we are used to it.

Long story -short version is a follows: It's his kid. He is called the grandfather and I'm referred to by my name. Which I prefer over being referred to a a step anything.
