Lots of Company!

Today three of my best friends were invited to my house for a luncheon. I kept it simple and quick, since everyone had other places to go and people to see, including myself. Shortly after their departure, my decorator arrived with her fabric samples and made the decision with us on which tiles would go best in our soon to be renewed family room. She stayed for a quick cup of coffee, too. Then my younger son arrived with Kuma, his female cat. We will be kittysitting her, along with Doodles, while he dives to see whale sharks in Mexico with his fiancé. The poor girl is hiding under the blankets in an extra bedroom right now, with Doodles standing guard at the edge of the bed. She will take a few days to warm up to us. She always does. Meanwhile, I have to figure out how to give her dinner beneath the blankets without Doodles gobbling it all up!

Doodles is so cute. Hope Kuma warms up soon, then Doodles will have a playmate for a little while. Could you close the door to the room she's in so she can eat?

@rebelann They are both Tuxedo cats, but it ends there. She is meek and timid, and he's the alpha male.

He dominates her, but they do get along. Now that you mention it, we do have a lot of travelers in the family. We are not going to India. Too scared with the craziness going on in the world.

@jaboUK We'll see. My husband will be out of commission for 6-8 weeks after his surgery. Then it will be Thanksgiving here and off to Florida. Strange year.

We have just got rid of my daugters dog and it was nice finishing work of Friday and not having to drive to her place to feed her cats. We have still got the tortoise which they are supposed to collect today! Have fun!

You do have some interesting situations at your house. I hope you found a way to keep Doodles away from her food. Is that her? She's a beautiful cat.

Yes, that's her, and thank you. We feed her under whatever bed she's hiding under with the door closed. Then Doodles polishes off whatever is left.

I used to have a get together here in my home once a week. That lasted for a little over a year. It was nice but my house got a lot of things broken by their kids and some would literally stay 8 hours until they had to be home to get the kids off the bus. It was a bit too long for me.

Sorry. No can do. When we have the cats, we can't even babysit our other son's two dogs. He has to get a dog walker in NYC for the weekend when he comes to visit.
