Seriously, have heard some people saying that they don't know a continent exist on the world map called Africa. You are from which country and where part of the continent does your country lies?

That's weird, maybe they think Africa is a country like some think Australia is a continent? I'm from Italy, Europe. Easy enough, I hope.

Australia is one of the seven continents. North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica. At least that is what they teach the kids in school here.

@GardenGerty Exactly. Some complain because America is supposed to be one continent only and Oceania is the continent with Australia, New Zealand and so on. And that's what they teach here at this side of the ocean (Europe). And as Antarctica has no citizens (maybe one was born there, not sure), some don't even count it as a continent.

I have never been to Malawi. I am a Nigerian and that's where I still reside. What can you say about Malawi as a country? How are the masses surviving in Malawi in terms of standard of living? @xFiacre

I have heard of people who are mistaken that way. I know Africa is a continent and the children in school here in the United States are taught that. So I am in the state of Kansas, in the central part of the United States, which is on the North American Continent.

It is a big amount of ignorance. They should be taught. For many people, education is not a given
