A few hours ago, I finally got my definitive date for the cataract surgery. It will be on September 21st.
Now I am kind of nervous about the whole thing. But I have no choice, I have to have it done.
I have to keep focusing on the fact that I will see better and be able to read easier after the procedure. Still I wish I could avoid it.
When I am nervous, I turn to sweets, so I guess it will be the same as usual. Too many sweets just to keep my mind off the surgery.
Ever had this cataract surgery?

I haven't, but my mom did. It was no big deal, in and out. The doctors chatted about their golf game while they worked on her, totally routine. She felt a little like she had something in her eye for a couple of days, then it was all good.

I never had so far, but my dad had it. And I saw it on BIG tv.
Don't worry it is not big deal. You will be fine in just few hours. In fact my dad's surgery get completed within 15 minutes after he got taken in. So I don't think you need to worry about it. Just don't think about it till date come. No need to load your mind.

I'm glad you now have a date. My sister said the surgery itself is just brief and not complicated but what youhave to do is to carefully follow the doctor's advice after the sugery. For two weeks you will have to avoid looking down, no excessive tv watching, you have to avoid the computer, no cooking, no floor sweeping, no activities that will strain your eyes or will make you look down. This is to make the healing very smooth. Incidentally, I also will undergo this surgery one of these days..

Cataract surgery is so easy now; my mother had it and so my older sisters; try to avoid sweets because it might affect your blood sugar which delays healing.
