Whether you are currently raising children or your kids are grown, the new movie, "Bad Moms" is a story you will probably be able to relate to. Amy (Mila Kunis) is an over-worked, stressed-out, exhausted mother with an inattentive husband, good kids and a comfortable home. Tired of trying to be the perfect mom and live up to the expectations of everyone else, she decides to accept that she is never going to be perfect ... she is just a bad mom. Amy joins forces with two other stressed-out mothers (played by Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn) and the three of them confess that they just cannot keep up the pretense any longer. The movie is hilarious. Both my adult daughter (who has two teenage children of her own) and I laughed through scene after scene. Despite the humor, however, it also brought back a number of memories from those years when I was a young mother raising four daughters in an up-scale neighborhood where I sometimes felt as if all the other mothers knew how to have perfect children and no one had told me their secret! If parenting sometimes leaves you frustrated and unappreciated, you may find that this movie gives you a fresh, new perspective! Finally ... a breath of fresh air about the realities of parenting. Mothers are enjoying this film so much, that groups of them are going to see it together and then posting their pictures on Twitter as "Bad Moms."

I have not been a Mom, but this movie seems funny and interesting.

@DeborahDiane This must be really hard, particularly for working moms.

It was very funny, but it was also thought-provoking. So many women try to do it all ... be parents, wives, workers, and keep up the house.

@LadyDuck - Yes, I think that many working moms feel overwhelmed ... at least sometimes.

@Marilynda1225 - I think this is a movie that women of all ages would enjoy ... including those who have grown-up children. I loved seeing it with one of my adult daughters.

Sounds like a fun movie for sure. I've not heard anything about it until now. Is the picture a scene from the movie? If so, I was never that kind of bad mom LOL

@marsha32 - Yes, the picture is a scene from the movie, and I was never that kind of bad mom, either. However, the party scenes are not really the point of the movie. The point was that the moms came to realize that they were really good moms, but society was just making them feel incompetent ... like they were bad moms. It is actually more thought-provoking than the picture makes it appear!

@Hatley - My daughter and I really enjoyed watching "Bad Moms." She and I could both relate to feeling like we did not always live up to everyone elses' expectations all the time.

I was wondering if this would be a good movie. We rarely go out to the movies. We normally wait for it to come out on cable and watch it then.

@simone10 - I think that is why so many women can relate to this movie. Millions of women have lived it.

@simone10 - I think this movie would be just as good on cable. There is no awesome views or scenes that you would want to see in the theater. It is just a very understandable story for most women who have been working moms.

I think every mother has succumbed at one time or another to the pressure to try to do everything perfectly. This movie sums up that pressure perfectly!

The picture alone shows how humorous it is. Your review of the movie makes me want to see this and have a good laugh as well even though comedy is not a genre I do well with. I think I would enjoy this one.

@just4him - It might go offend your religious beliefs a bit, but I think nearly any woman who has worked and raised kids at the same time would be able to identify with how overwhelmed most moms have felt at one time or another.

Now I want to see this movie and I wasn't considering it before. I raised my girls alone and I often felt like I was struggling to "keep up"

@paigea - It sounds like this is a movie that you would also be able to relate to, since you struggled at times to "keep up." I think most working moms have felt that way at one time or another.

From a male perspective, it could be called Hot Moms rather than Bad Moms. The movie is tapping into the female audience desire for comedies they can relate to which Hollywood didn't realize existed until Bridesmaids.

I agree completely. This is a movie that even more women will like than Bridesmaids ... especially if they have been a mom.
