Playing with my Convertible

I've been working more with my fountain pens lately, especially my convertible. I have a calligraphy type pen that takes only cartridges, and a finer drawing pen that takes cartridges or a refillable ink converter. I was playing with that yesterday especially. If I can switch to bottled ink, it will save a lot of money in the long run. Right now I'm not that happy with the acrylic ink I tried, I think I need to shake it more. A LOT more. Perhaps I'll try India ink next. So far it's looked rather watery - which is nice for certain effects but not good for a solid black line. But at least I got some drawings done and some practice. I have a rosewood fountain pen coming in the mail, I hope it works properly. It didn't cost much and I am looking forward to trying it. I started with the ink because this new one doesn't take cartridges at all!

I think I just learned what a convertible pen is from this discussion... Beautiful drawing!

Thank you! It's nice to be able to switch from bottled ink to cartridges and back again.

If you can draw using anything else, you could do this. You can buy a decent one on Amazon for fairly cheaply.

Interesting venturing out. The drawing is zen in nature or a Haiku. Profound. It draws me in.
