Daisy Loves Bananas

Good morning/afternoon/evening. It's another hot day here in Kentucky. It's supposed to rain and then cool off quite a bit this weekend so I am anxious to see what happens. Cooler weather would be much appreciated. This morning I decided to eat a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast and opened a banana to cut up and put in my cereal. Well, here comes Daisy as just the smell of a banana will get her running to the kitchen. Daisy loves just about everything. She likes cucumbers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and bananas. Bananas are her favorite but because of the sugar content, we only give her a bite or two, not matter how much she begs. Her love of bananas made me remember this video on youtube. It's a dachshund that is holding and eating a banana. It's really cute so I thought I would share with everyone. Have a great day!

@BelleStarr Bella doesn't really care for bananas but she will eat a piece if Daisy does. I haven't tried to see if she likes lettuce.

It is a cute little dog, isn't it? I can't believe it can hold the banana like a human.

@ElizabethWallace I wonder if Daisy would hold it like that? I don't really want to try because I would be afraid that she would eat too much of the banana.

@simone10 I had a dog that used its front paws like hands too. I think small dogs do it more than large ones.

I don't think my dachshund would eat that. Admittedly, he's not exactly impressed with the whole idea of eating.

I have one who doesn't care for them and one who does. Why doesn't you dog like to eat? Is he not feeling well?

@simone10 He finds food boring. My last dachshund loved food; this one doesn't. Sometimes he eats so little his blood sugar crashes. The vet advised giving him a teaspoon of honey if I thought there was a chance of it.

@egdcltd Have you tried different foods with him? Most dogs love canned food although it can make them have loose bowels.

@silvermist Yes, anything! She has been known to take off with mint wrappers, dryer sheets and anything that is left on the floor. I can't tell you how many times I have had to chase her down to get something out of her mouth. It's worse than having a baby.

I loved the video, the dog is so funny. I know that bananas are good for dogs, but in moderation, precisely because of to the sugar content.

Daisy must be a very happy dog with such a good master to her, having everything nutrious for her health. I love dogs, though I am a little afraid of a running dog that barks at me. A lot of news has been read and I got to know that dogs are really smart creatures and I do like dogs. Many years ago, my family had a puppy dog for a few months. It was a hairy white one. It loved to play with our shoes. I did not know why shoes could be fun to him. Sorry to say that I cannot watch it from youtube.

Daisy really is a very happy dog and she is so spoiled...by me . She is loved so much. I love dogs but if one was chasing me, I would be afraid of it too. When Daisy was a puppy, she loved to chew on shoes too. I think puppies just love to chew when they are cutting their adult teeth.

@williamjisir66 You are very welcome. Most of the time, they outgrow chewing once they have all of their adult teeth. It's that teething part that is very destructive.

@simone10 Now I see why puppies love to chew on the shoes. Thank you for the answer.

That's very cute. It's surprising what foods animals like isn't it? Mum's old sheep used to like plums and would spit the seeds out without any problems.

So far, the only fruit Daisy has had are bananas. We definitely stay away from grapes as they are toxic to dogs.

I always loved bananas as a kid but I don't care for them when they are green. Does it not hurt their tummies to eat green bananas?

And Daisy will let you just give her a bite or two and does not want the whole banana. I fed my dog and cat had before rice and leftover food and tuna. Sophie just eats cat food and wet cat food. I learned from what I did with them but she still got fat so she has diet dry food now.
