School will soon begin!

Although it is still around 100 F most days in North Carolina, school will soon start again.
It seems that the summer is flying by, although not fast enough for some. The heat has been an issue, but we are not ready to think about school beginning next Monday.
It seems it would be better if school began in the middle of September and ended in the middle of May in this area. However, some don't want the students in their family to be home any day, let alone that many days!
Would you like your students in your household to be home more and at school less?

I found out that our schools start tomorrow. I was wondering why I haven't seen my sniper lately. He's going back to school!
All the groundhogs are really thankful.

What do you mean by sniper? Did you have someone annoying you here?

@PatZAnthony Like an actual sniper with a high-powered rifle. He gets rid of groundhogs in my hay fields, because their holes can damage the machinery. He's taken out 19 in the last month. It's nice to get their population under control.

@OneOfMany not only machinery but when I was a kid our hired man stumbled because of a ground hog hole and broke his leg poor guy.

Mine are all grown so its not a problem for me. We moved so often when the children were school age every year was different. Living in Kansas, school started in September was was over early because of the necessity of Farm and ranch kids were needed at home. As a kid, myself birthday was often the first day of school and that was a bummer.

It just seems the children spend way too much time away from home! Some like that idea and prefer the children are gone all day.

@PatZAnthony I always enjoyed my kids but there was no reason to like or dislike their being around. it is just life. But I do understand what you are saying, i would never prefer they be away...But school is what makes them interesting adults.

My kids are all grown but I think that compared to the rest of the world, out kids already have too many days off.

The schools have A/C but not all of the buses and we will still see really hot days.

I don't have kids but I'm sure I'd much rather have them home. I babysit a lot and I worry enough about everyone else's kids. I can't begin to imagine how I will be with my own! lol I think I would choose to home school my kids though.

There are many here who teach their kids at home for various reasons.

Many here have a home school situation and teach the children at home. Yes, they grow too fast and soon enough will be gone.

They seem to be gone most of their lives if they have an active school schedule.
