I'm in the money.....I'm in the money

I think those are lyrics to a song and I'm signing it today. This puts to rest the continuing sage of the rental cottage in Maggie Valley, North Carolina and the Fridge Fiasco. While I never received messages indicating they had put through more than a $504 refund, it seems that they did put in for the refund. I found out this morning when I went into my Discover Card account and they were there in black and white. While I was told back when the fridge fiasco was happening that I would receive a full refund plus a hundred dollars for food - that didn't fully happen but close enough at this point. The refund I received was for $I007.45, and we had paid $I090.25. The difference being the VRBO fees for their part in the booking process. The supposed $I00 for food would not have come out of that money since we didn't pay it and at this point I don't think the cottage owner are gong to send me a check LOL. I am just very happy that we got back almost all of our money. This restores my faith in human nature, well, until something else happens anyway. It most certainly is. Plus I'm glad that they were not lying to me about returning the money. That was a big sticking point.

I'm glad it has been resolved satisfactorily.... it can be a bit of a pain chasing these things up and going through the process.... but in the end ... I'm glad you got your refund...

Thanks, I wish they had told me right from the start that it would take so much time. That should have put the refund through the day the fridge fisco happened. That was 8/9.... But the ending is ok, so I'll just be happy now.

For 5 nights, yes. The first three days were based on the cabin's 'needs' - It wasn't until the last two days that we were able to come and go as we pleased.

@Jessicalynnt Absolutely, we are going to stock up the freezer. I thought of going away again, but we will hit the good butcher shop and seafood shop and eat at home.

I can say you did very well or should i say she did well? l was sceptical when you said she will refund,l thought she might refund half of it. Now you can book your next vacation.

I'm glad you're getting most of it back. Stuff like that is so maddening and such a disappointment.

It's good to get the money, but it would have been even better if we didn't have to go through all that in the first place. Next birthday - I stay home.

WOW, great news, I am very happy that you received your refund. I would not care about the additional 100$, now you have your money back and you can plan another vacation.
