Keeping track of posts I have read

As many people's posts as I read here at mylot some times it is hard to remember which I have read and which I have not when I look at the title. Once I read the post or look at the comments to see if I have commented I know I have read it and will move on to the next one. Sometimes I really like a post and then I will click like on it so that is easy to spot as well if I come to a post I do not remember if I read. What would be awesome is if there was a way to mark that we have read a post before opening it up such as a check mark. Some posts are very hard to tell if I have read them or not when people use very similar titles all the time such as "good morning". How do you keep track of the posts you have read?

I think it will be almost impossible to mark posts or to categorize them, too many around.I enjoy what i read and dont worry about the rest i might have missed.

I don't worry much if I miss any either but it wastes time for me to go back to a post I have already read unless it is interacting again on my comment from before.

@shaggin btw, it would be nice if I could at least remember the title to all my own part of being here so many years I think

It is hard to keep track of what you read already. Only way I know I have a response is if I get a email from my lot saying I have a response to post. But never thought of liking the post to keep track of it.

I hate having to like them just to keep track though :-( It does seem like the easiest way though.

@shaggin Right it can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

Every time that I read a post, I like it, so it's easy to check if I have already read the post of not.

I thought about doing that as well but if I don't think the post is anything special I don't really want to "like" it. Same as I am on facebook.

@shaggin Yes, this can happen, but I usually open the posts of people I follow and if I follow them, it means that they usually write posts that I like.

Hmm I suppose that would make the titles we have read easier to remember if we pass buy all the ones that seem to similar such as good morning posts etc.

I can mostly remember from the title if I've read it or not. I almost always 'like' a post so if I see I've liked it I know I've read it.

Seems a lot of people use the like to know if they have read something. I guess I won't think my posts are anything special if I see they have a lot if likes hehe.

@shaggin I always like every post unless there is a particular reason not to. I don't really do it so I'll know if I've read it or not.

I used to do that as well but found I had a very small circle of mylotters I followed from the old mylot days. Now I am trying to get to know and remember more people.

I probably am wrong, but it's rare for me to not hit the like on posts. Some I do skip because they are just one or 2 sentences. I do comment something so they know I was there. I work through notifications trying to get to at least one post by those I see named.

If I am looking through new posts and one person has a lot of new ones in the past few minutes I usually just read one of them too so I can view many different mylotters posts instead of the same person all day.

I open a new tab and go to my activity but it does take some time to go through it all. I do also wish there was an easier way to do it.

I have to just keep scrolling down through each persons discussions until I find one I haven't read and commented on yet. Of course this is only with those that have commented on my post and I am seeing what of theirs I can comment on.

I only track those that mostly have responded to me. sometimes it's hard to respond to post that were never active towards you. or just too busy. Before I use to respond to every recent discussion made but now if i have the time I just choose the ones that relates to me.

Usually, I open the latest posts of the lotters here and I have a pretty good retentive memory to know if a post is already read and commented by me or not

I have had many moments like that! Some of the mylotters I follow don't post as often so when I check up to see if there's anything new, I'll be halfway through a discussion before realizing I already read it. lol
