I took the picture at the breakfast they served us today for the United Way Community Volunteer Work Day. In the picture my youngest daughter, Jasmine is looking and smiling. Granddaughter Araya is standing in the glasses. Granddaughter Ariel is turned away sitting next to grandson Allen. Granddaughter Willo is hidden behind Allen and pointing at something. Grandson Jacob is hidden behind Jasmine. They went all out for our breakfast--scrambled eggs, pancakes, bananas, orange juice and milk. We went over and packed up our lunches--choice of ham or turkey sandwich, choice bag of chips, then a choice of an apple or a banana. Then they gave us ice and 2 bottles of water for each person on our team. Breakfast, lunch, and the water was provided to use free from United Way for volunteering as well as the neat purple t-shirts we are wearing. I put together a group from our church to go. I seen the flyer when Allen, Hanna, and I returned from our mission trip. Motivated to help others, I just knew I needed to put together a group. Our group consisted of 18 people. 9 people from our family and 9 people from the congregation. Even our oldest member at age 98 went! Our project was at Horizons Mental Health Center to plant in planters, build a bench, paint some parking spaces, and weed and clean up the parking lot. It wasn't hard work until the morning got pretty hot. I'm glad we went. I wonder if we will also participate next year. Now, camping. I will not be posting tomorrow, Monday, or Tuesday. We are heading out on a camping trip with my son. Cross your fingers for us to not have rain please since we do camp in tents. It will be a wonderful time to just spend one on one time with my son. We are letting a family friend come along as well. He is currently homeless and asked to come along. We are encouraging him to stay good, so it's not a problem to take him too, and he and my son know each other. Until Wednesday, I am wishing you all well!!

Only a little rain. I had that thought about what they spent on the food and t-shirts, but it turns out that local businesses paid for most all of that.

@marsha32 ......One like my grandmother used to fix would definitely be enough. Hers were about 3/4 of an inch thick and as big as a frypan. Now that's a meal!

I do send sunshine your way for your camping trip. I know what it's like to camp in the rain in tents. Your United Way breakfast sounded good. I'm glad you were able to help out in that way.

I got what you were saying about the sewing because yes, what I am working on I plan to sell, but I enjoy sewing too much to call it work LOL It's great when I can not worry about my electronics and just sit and sew.

We used to do a lot of camping, as I have gotten older, I like it less. My back hurts, bla bla blaa

My back hurts at home, so getting comfortable in the tent wasn't much different.
