Good day to all mylotters! Today when I open my fb account, memories suggested by fb to be shared by me. Today, the 30th of August is the first anniversary of my visit to Berlin Germany. Time really flies fast. It seems that it was only yesterday when I first met the publisher of the PILYA BLOG MAGAZINE in Berlin. She lives in Bavaria and I in NRW (North Rhine Westphalia). I flew alone to Berlin and she drove with her family by car. We had a wonderful weekend knowing each other for the first time in real life. We are both bloggers and writers and now we wrote for our Filipino German blog magazine together. It was Sunday last year when I was left alone by my own strolling the historical places in Berlin. My flight back home was at the evening so I still had the whole day strolling around. What have I seen? Well, the popular Berlin Wall which is already destroyed and turned to an Art Wall. I have been to the Bundeskanzleramt (Chancellor building) which was open to the public on that day. There were many interesting places I have been to including the Spree River. Have you traveled alone? Did you like it? To be honest, it was good to be alone strolling the city of Berlin. I was able to see what I loved to see. I enjoyed it too much that I am planning to travel alone again but maybe in another city. I have no friend who share my interest in visiting historical places and of course visiting to museums. My hubby can't go with me as he is not good in walking long walks. Luckily, I have the permission to go alone. Have you visited Berlin? What have you seen there?

it's good that your husband allows you to travel alone. i know a couple who's children want them to travel, but the father doesn't want to. he wouldn't let his wife (the mother) go, either, because he would be lonely at home.

@thelme55 no, he can do everything. maybe he's afraid he won't be able to stand the loneliness if she went away for several days.

That is selfish of the husband. Maybe he was thinking who will cook for him. I have a German husband and I am glad I have him.

@hereandthere I see. I would get depressed if I were the wife. So, if I were the wife and I get angry about him, the punishment is going away. Sorry, I am just an independent minded person who wants sometimes space from a suffocating relationship.

I was in Berlin in 2011 for my 40th birthday trip. It's a brilliant city, so much to see and do. I loved the museum of East Germany and seeing the Brandenburg Gate.

That was good @fizzytom. I have not seen the museums there as I was only on a weekend trip. I wish I could one day.

We lived in Europe for ten years. I went to all of the museums and I loved going to the castle tours that they had.

I have traveled alone for work to Singapore and actually I enjoyed it even though I got homesick by the end of the two weeks I was there. I have not been to Berlin though, sounds like a great place. I would love to go even if I'm alone if ever I got the chance to do so.

WOW!You have traveled to Singapore. I heard it's a clean country and that you are not allowed to chew gums.

Sometimes traveling alone allows more time to enjoy the scenery. Never visited Berlin. Does sound fun. I Tanikka Paulk would love to someday. I'm glad to hear that the trip was enjoyed. Be blessed.

@thelme55 That is what's happening to me .. my husband had enough of travelling so he said I should go if I want to .. But I just don't like travelling by myself to other places I've never been before .. and I don't have anyone here to accompany me ..

I see @epiffanie. I was like that at first but hubby encouraged me to go alone or else I will not be able to see what I like to see. He is right. I will never be if I wait for him.

No, I have never visited Berlin. I have visited the West Germany, but never the Eastern part of Germany. I always travel with my husband. We both like to walk and visit historical places and museums... well, also good restaurants.

@thelme55 You are right, one day is not enough if you want to visit museums. My favorite city to visit museums is Florence.

I see @LadyDuck. My hubby and I are also fond of visiting museums and one day is not enough to see a museum. I just stand and stare in front of a painting and enjoyed the beauty of it. Awesome feeling. Sometimes es I got goosebumps.

Not surprisingly, I've been to Berlin. I've got a friend there. I've visited her several times and thus could watch how the city has developed. I've seen everything worth seeing.

Berlin is worth a visit @MALUSE. I wish I have stayed there for a few days but it was only a weekend. Maybe I will still have another chance.

No, he doesn't mind. I have a very understanding husband of 35 years. Besides that, he likes to be alone painting. He is an artist who needs concentration when painting.
