I must have gotten up around 3:30 in the morning last night and something caught my eye out the bathroom window. It was the strangest phenomenon, but fascinating at the same time.
It consisted of a milky white arc in the sky... and a second one even bigger beside it. I watched for a few minutes and then these sprays of light began to develop until there were about four of the in a row.
My niece is the only one in the family who has ever lived far enough north to have ever seen them and now I think that I can say that I have too!!
I had never seen Northern Lights before, but decided that must be what they look like and headed off to bed. Now I wish that I had stayed up longer to see what else would happen!!

I would have been standing there spellbound till it was all over. We saw the southern lights once when we lived near the south coast.

I have never seen them. I'd love to go stay somewhere there was that opportunity. It sounds so lovely and dramatic! That's good you got to see them!

too bad that you did not get a chance to snap a photo on your cell.
