Nearly Stepped on a Snake!

I have heard that Manitoba is known for it's Garter Snakes, but I really don't want to know anything more! We have been here a grand total of 2 weeks and I have seen two so far. That is more than enough.
Darling daughter mentioned at breakfast this morning that there are actual dens of snakes that you can view. Don't know where and didn't ask!! That's enough to creep me out!!
The snake that I saw yesterday, slithered into a little opening under the front steps which means that every time I go up or down them, I'm going to be wondering how many snakes are under there??

I am afraid of snakes too and do not want to see it. Better have a cat near your stairs so snakes will go away.

Oh gross..I would die. I have a terrible fear of snakes. I can't even stand to look at a picture of them or to seem them on TV. I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing they were under my front steps. I got shivers just thinking of it.

Hubby used to have a book all about snakes... now that was gross!!
