This wax museum in Bristol, Connecticut is owned by Cortlandt Hull who is a nephew to the screen actor Henry Hull it now has a new location in The Bristol Historical Society on Summer Street. It was establihed in 1966 but they new location has been greatly expanded. Among the monsters are must haves Frankenstein and Dracula, Creature of the Black Lagoon, Linda Blair's character from The Exorcist, the phantom of the opera, the fly, Nosferatu, the Mole People, House of Wax character Professor Henry Jarrod portrayed by Vincent Price and Dr. Wilfred Glendon from the Werewolve of London. I wish we had a wax museum here. There are so many ones of historical figures but not horror characters from old vintage movies. Here is the Facebook link: and it's website: http://www.preservehollywood.org/DungeonWebNew/Home.html

Hmmm... I've heard of wax museums, but have never been in one, celticeagle. I think I would like to check one out sometime... Of course, I have been in other types of museums, though. I really liked Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum in Branson, Missouri. I've also visited the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum, The Harry Truman Home and Museum, The Wonders of Wildlife Museum, The Butterfly House and The Missouri State Botanical Society and Museum. Pretty and I spent an entire day wandering around in the Botanical Society and Museum... LOL! (It figures that we spent the most time in a plant museum! We were given seeds for several different trees that the director said were hard to grow..... As far as I know, only two of the trees sprouted, but I believe they are still growing on my sister's property in Arkansas.)

I'd enjoy visiting Ripley's. We have a historical museum here but nothing like Ripley or the Witch's. I love the old vintage movies. My daughter and I watch Svengoolie every Saturday night.

I love the Henry Hull connection. He starred in Werewolf of London.

Yes, it was a good one. He took over for his uncle I guess.
