I miss Schwarzwäldertorte

Yes, I do. I can bake it here in the Philippines especially that I have the ingredients including the Kirschwasser (cherry liquor ) from Germany. But it is too hot to bake and so I am thinking of an alternative in which I don't have to bake. The filling is the same. Schwarzwäldertorte is the traditional black forest cake in Germany. I have learned baking and making this cake when I was working at a cafeteria ages ago. I have written my own recipe of black forest cake in my main writing site. Now I am thinking of making this dessert without baking. Maybe I will use some biscuits or graham crackers for that. I will be showing you the result later. Have you tried the real Schwarzwäldertorte? Where? The photo above was the Schwarzwäldertorte I have baked a few years ago. Thanks for reading. Have a great day mylotters.

That cake looks SO nice. I wish we had some here for dessert. I might even skip mains if that cake was sitting in the fridge.

@thelme55 When I go to a restaurant the first thing I read if the dessert menu. If there is something I really want, I then have an entree as my mains and I have dessert after.

Can't wait to see the non-baking version... Would it be like cheese cake?

I bake my own Schwarzwäldertorte, this cake is also very popular here in Switzerland. Today is cool enough to use the oven.

@thelme55 I agree, because we know how important it is to use fresh whipped dairy cream.

Yes @SIMPLYD. Actually black forest cake was originated in Germany in the region of Schwarzwald aka black forest in English. Then this was exported to America through the German immigrants.

@hereandthere I buy it in Gaisano. I use Alaska brand. I don´t buy an expensive Nestle brand of double cream as it is only expensive because of the name. Yes, I have.

That's good @epiffanie. Was it so sweet? The German black forest cake is not so sweet compared to the one I have eaten in Ireland and England.

I didn't think that a black forest cake is another type of cake, I thought it was it's name. So, this is a different kind of black forest cake.
