The Celebration Continued

My photo of Paul Biondi

I noticed early yesterday that a great local music group was playing at winery that we had never been to, so being Labor Day and so close to that other day we celebrated on the 4th, we decided to head out west of town to Bennett Winery. Sure enough Paul Biondi and his sax collection were there along with our favorite piano player, Gus Russell (played at our wedding seven years ago) and a drummer who sings as well, Rick Markstrom. We whiled away the afternoon from 3 to 6 sipping wine and running into old acquaintances. It was a sunny 80 degrees under a large tent for shade and a fitting end to summer. Yes, Paul can actually play two saxophones at once.

It's really nice to be there for the celebration. I can't imagine how to play two saxophones at the same time. He is doing great! I have not seen real performance of saxophone before.

Paul moved here some years back from LA where he had played on recordings and in bands with many big names.

So many good local musicians here on the Left Coast. I actually played softball "against" Kenny Sultan of Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan when I lived in Santa Barbara. He's one heck of a guitar player.

I knew a recorder player once who could play his instrument through his nose. That was pretty gross. And only because I'm curious about your laws - did you have a 'skipper' who didn't drink but who drove you home? Our drink driving laws have completely changed the way many of us go out and celebrate nowadays.
