A Fear Of Clowns??? / myLot

I know there are people who have fear of clowns for whatever reason, I think because of the scary clown movies, maybe I don't know. But apparently there are new reasons to "fear" clowns at least in North Carolina and South Carolina. Apparently there have been cases of people dressing up as clowns to lure children away. Now, it might be good to have a fear of clowns, so that you run away from them!!

That is some great advice. My grand daughter is afraid of clowns and so is her Dad.

As a small child my daughter was afraid of clowns, especially when another mom dressed as one to take her daughter out on Halloween. Interestingly enough she grew up to be in a Christian Clown troupe for a while. I hung with them and also developed a couple of clown characters. Garden Gerty is actually a clown in the hobo type tradition. I notice the "scary clowns" are all what is termed a "grotesque" white face.

A fear of Clowns masks a fear of another kind usually. Mine was because I was afraid not of the Clown itself but the faceless expression it has sometimes. I can see the reason to fear Clowns now because of what is happening over here and in England specially. I think we all need to look out for each other and not provoke those kind of Characters that might be around. One Clown got beat up the other day and no one really knows if he was playing around or up to mischief very scary indeed. Got an inclination that the said person was up to no good.

I have actually never liked clowns since childhood...as i grew...i still didn't like them and didn't ever find them funny. Though this news is scary for parents in that area.

Clowns have never really bothered me one way or another but for some strange reason my son is absoutely terrified of them. I've heard of this happening that's scary.

I never feared the clowns but the one in the photograph definitely looks scary!

Anyways, it indeed is a matter of concern that people dress up as clowns to lure innocent children away. It's always good to teach children to not trust strangers.
