Tarts and Treats

As I finished at the bank I thought I would pop in at the bakery and see what they had freshly out the oven . . . So my treat for my Hard Work at the BANK today was a lovely warm Portuguese Custard tart or otherwise called "pastéis de nata" and I bought some Apple Danishes for the family when they get home from work. I am off to Lawn Bowling with winds of 27kmph howling red sand at me and in a moderate 31*C HEAT. The treat thereafter will be an ICE-COLD Ginger ale!! Leave your calling cards and thank you all for such a lovely morning of MyLotting Later

I immediately recognized the Portuguese pasteis de nata, they are delicious, this is what my friends always ask me to prepare when they come.

@Inlemay I also love anything with custard. Here is a very good recipe to make the Portuguese pastries at home.
Not Portuguese? No worries. It won't lessen your appreciation for the crackly crust cradling a ridiculously creamy custard.

It was moderate due to the wind factor - but I was as the English say"bugged" last night after trying to roll a bowl, hold my hat on, wipe the perspiration from my brow and keep my feet flat on the mat - I felt like a contortionist

It's amazing that every time I see a pic of delicious tarts, my mouth starts to water and my stomach growls of the incessant craving of sugar and cream. This is no different! After hard work, it definitely is a good treat

I was asked to go to a social day of bowls in a week or two but I'll be away. Hope you enjoyed it a little bit considering the conditions. It is blowing a gale here too.

@Inlemay It is a popular sport here with both men and women. The friend who asked me to go to the social day has just returned from several months in a seaside town further north (where it is warmer) and they went bowling there nearly every day. The caravan park was full of bowlers.

@JudyEv I could live in a place like that - We are following a trend that the Aussie Bowlers have set in place to help encourage younger players to play as our average age is 54 years old . . . too old they say. So leniency in the uniform, new styles and of course, fun days too.

There should be law preventing someone from posting pictures like this one. Do you know how hungry you just made me? If I was at your table right now and you said something I would respond with "huh yeah" and just stare at that delicious serving.

It sounds like its very hot in your area also. Your trip to the bakery sounds like nice, I'll have to research a Portuguese custard tart, I'm not familiar with those and would love to check out the ingredients.
