Just last week our government announced that the Zika virus has infected some citizens in Singapore. The authorities say that it's a matter of when and not whether Zika will come. So we are quite prepared for it. But even so I can understand the anxiety and worry that our pregnant ladies must be facing.
Do you have the Zika virus in your country as well?
How do the citizens cope?

Yeah we had a couple of cases reported recently.
The Ministry of Health said it's still in the containment phase.

@cahaya1983 I think it will soon spread beyond containment phase. Let's hope the authorities can manage it properly.

@LadyDuck Since the world is "shrinking" and air travel is so prevalent I think it's only a matter of time for the Zika virus to spread to all parts of the world. The health authorities would have to manage it properly.

@succeednow I have heard that here they want to do something to check all the passengers coming from countries considered "at risk".

I don't think so. There are other easier ways to control population growth.

@succeednow we did have cases of the Zika virus here. My youngest daughter is pregnant and terrified that it will affect her and her baby.

@HazySue Yes, I'm sure mothers-to-be will be most anxious to know whether their baby will turn out normal. Wish your daughter to have a normal and healthy child.
