Oils, essential and otherwise

Lately I've been researching essential oils and how to use them. There's soooo much to learn, but it's really interesting. There are lots of medical benefits, but I like the idea of being chemical-free and having the fragrance I like.
I've already made some body wash, body lotion, and hand scrub. I'm still trying different recipes and tweaking them to get what I want. It's a lot of trial and error!
My next project is making some perfume. There are tons of recipes and advice on line, so I'm reading lots of stuff.
I'll let you know how it turns out. Have you ever used essential oils?

I have never used them but my daughter does and she swears by them. She uses for a lot of different medical things. I have always been meaning to try them for various things but have never gotten around to it.

Has your daughter seen some benefits from them? I'm sure she's knowledgeable about it.

@1creekgirl Yes she has. She had a psoriasis breakout and she got that all cleared up with oils. She also uses different ones for swelling and pain. I am not sure what else she uses them for but she has told me about that. She has been using them for quite some time now. My daughter law is using them too but I am not sure what she uses them for.

I got some free for writing a review - but after I did that I threw them out. I'm not fond of a lot of 'smells'.

@1creekgirl Once I started with asthma smells really bother me. I use as much 'frangrance free' products as I possibly can.

@AbbyGreenhill I am sensitive to some fragrances, so I'm being careful what I work with.

Essential oils are what we use for fragrance. I refuse to buy into the MLM brands that are on the market. I read some reviews of several brands. I love the practical uses of the good smelling stuff.

I love the idea of creating my own things, and it really seems like a good idea to use less chemicals on our bodies and homes.

Sounds cool and interesting, the pure ones are quite expensive isn't it? Anyway will wait when the Creek girl line of products comes out

That's funny. I'll definitely keep you posted. You're right that the better oils are rather expensive, but they last a while because you only use a few drops, depending on the recipe.

I love creating, even when it doesn't turn out exactly right!
