Good afternoon.I have been a busy man most of the morning. Went to the club.Did some weeding for them. Then at nine had P.T. then home.Making tomato sauce and a dozen or so meatball. This is the first time that I use the pork and beef meat. In my earlier years use fat free hamburg They taste okay, but not the same.you need some fat there. I do not care for commercial tomato sauce.I find this a bit sweet for me. I know they put sugar in to cut out the acidity there. This is for Mike on his birthday Saturday. Will tell more later.Have a good one there. Are you having one.? The photo is mind from our Italian Kitchen.

Your tomato sauce looks perfect Alfredo. I hate the taste of the ready made, you can feel the sweetness from the sugar, this is something I really dislike. To avoid the acidity, it's enough to add the salt when the sauce is almost ready.

@amadeo I think we do this by habit, that was transmitted to us by our ancestors.

Frikadellen mit Tomatensauce, meatballs with tomato sauce in German! Yum. And yes, a little fatty pork in there makes all the difference.

@amadeo So next time I make meatballs, I will add a bit of ground pork to my beef. They might turn out better, I am never very satisfied with the meatballs I make. You only make a dozen meatballs? Not very many.

That looks yummy! I plan to make a bolognese sauce later today, as LadyDuck knows. I don't like any jarred sauces - too sweet and liquidy about it - we like it chunky!! It's been an ok day so far . . .nothing to complain about - yet - !

You have been busy, but I don't care for any sort of tomato sauce myself.

oh homemade tomato sauce and meatballs they will be so good. I find that store bought tomato sauce sometimes shoots my blood 'sugar up to high so it is full of sugar then,.

Happy birthday Mike, I agree that homemade tomato sauce is better. I don't care for sweet tomato sauce and I like lots of garlic. I can't eat tomatoes now other than a tiny slice that I sneak once in awhile.

I always make my own tomato sauce too. Meat balls and pasta is one of my favourite meals ever.
