What's your favorite color scheme for a blog?

I really am interested in hearing the answer. My blog is going ad free this weekend and I will probably change the theme at the same time.
Right now it's mostly black with white lettering, which I personally find more restful to the eyes. However, considering the name "Time to be Awesome" and the general theme of self improvement, I was thinking that a lighter theme might be more in order.
So far I was thinking either a blue sky theme, or some kind of really cool desert photo theme, with dark text on a light background.
Either choice would have clear, fairly large, sans serif text.
What do you like? What are you drawn to? What says "I'm a serious blogger" to you?
I'd love to know, and it might influence my eventual decision.

Okay, that makes sense. Dark background or light? I notice most blogs seem to use light backgrounds.

@Rohvannyn some readers prefer black because it consumes less electricity/battery they said. But I also like different colors depends on your niche. If your blog is related to kids, I guess you need colorful design. If your blog is about airplanes, blue is a good match since sky is blue. I post several images on my personal blog so I use light.

@AkoPinay I've heard the same thing about dark blogs, and I prefer them myself, however most of the people I"m trying to reach seem to like light themes.

I am not sure if it says serious blogger but my blog is black and violet. I like violet although some people find it not pleasing to the eyes.

@Rohvannyn .. Thank you...I felt darker shades kind of hurt the eyes...and striking contrasts too...like black print on white background or white print on black background...that is why lighter shades with tolerably darker gray script.
