Music to ears :)

Last two days were spent quite interestingly. I got to watch a video featuring Sairam Iyer, showcasing his unique capability to emulate male and female singing voices. Quite a treat. Watched more of it, and chanced upon some more people honing their skills. And some professionals doing a cameo here and there. The whole night I was up listening to music.... As there was no time left, got ready and left for work. Been involved in some intensive research to find out the solutions for my latest roadblock. Hectic work, maybe that's why I was so drawn to the melodies. ....caught myself catching sleep in the night. Just in time. Had dinner and left for home. And again fell in trap! Some more videos.... Watched some interviews too. Journalists are strange! Here, a man has organized an event, paying tributes to musicians and singers of bygone era. You ask him about it, fine. What is this about asking each of the family members what role they are playing in it? Is the daughter duty-bound to contribute? SMH. Yet in another interview.... trying to quiz Mr. Pyarelal's wife on her idea about the events organized by his disciple! Poor lady was so flabbergasted! And then their penchant for controversies! Here, an artist is happily giving you insight about his planned works. And you go ahead and start asking about politics of whom to invite and whom to keep out..... Seriously. Pushed the rewind button. Back to the events and the individuals singing on top of their voices. Some good, some not so good. And I wonder if I could even start. o.O Finally, dawn comes. And, after keeping awake for two continuous days, I crash to bed. Sweet dreams? Seems like those come at nights only.

Sounds like interesting stuff, but I'd get restless! I'm working on some speakers (and cooking lunch) right now, and will head off cycling soon to deposit last night's earnings.

The time-zones are such a charming concept! lol. I am contemplating whether it should be 4th such night.... Basically, I am a lazy bone. Never to compete with you and others on activity front!

You deposit cash in bank? You use debit cards? In India, cash rules...we get rent in cash, and so we don't have to kinda go to the bank as much. In any event, I am guilty of triggering hora's sleepless in India nights..lol I introduced him to Sairam Iyer.

Each part of the day has a music genre assigned to it. It never ends...

@hora_fugit .. I know ...but they never said ...listener has to be around. That is for singer to practice and identify the notes that he or she cannot notice the melody of in the day time.

@vandana7 From a listener's perspective too, it's eternal.

I am sorry, YOU! When you all speak about music, I am mostly left behind. Music doesn't hold my interest like it can with other people. I can and do sing to myself (yes, in tune). Usually, if I am happy and contented, I will sing. I don't necessarily notice I am singing, though. (Pretty has said I sing in my sleep, at times. People at work have stopped me and ask what song I am singing.... usually it is just something I make up as I am doing something. It is not a real song, at all.) I am not your brother, to chide you about such things, but I hope as a friend I can point out something to you? Staying awake so long that you literally crash into sleep is not good. I can tell you that doing so could be contributing to your dreaming experiences... to bad dreams in particular. Something else that may be contributing to the bad dreams you have is problems you have at work. Your mind is still trying to sort out the problems. Without adequate sleep, your problems will be magnified. You are welcome to ignore what I tell you, but I hope you don't.

No I defy quite readily but I do not ignore. lol In my opinion, your assessment about lack of sleep and the bad dreams is true...though work may not be a factor here.... When I am drawn into music, painting or any art, it can be safely assumed that the stress has taken over. I rarely sing otherwise.

@hora_fugit You also paint? Or you like paintings? I like paintings, but am really not a painter. I can play the piano, but am better at teaching how to play it. (You know what they say... "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." I fall into the latter category.) I don't consider myself to be good at writing, either. That is why I edit manuscripts, but don't write books. What other artistic abilities do you have?
