Diego did not come. I had taken great pains to make something special for him and, at the last minute, he said he wasn´t coming.
I have been thinking about it and I decided I was not going to feel guilty. It is not my fault and he is not my son.
So we ate some delicious potato sopaipillas with Leticia nad saved some for tomorrow as I have some friends for tea. Leticia told me that they could be heated at the small electric stove.
I also gave Leticia some potatoes to take to her house. I bought lot of potatoes when I thought that Diego would stay here for 3 weeks.
Next Monday I´m invited to a barbecue at Claudia´s house. I will make a big batch of potato salad to take and that will be the end of them.

My daughter left him at my care (his father at first refused to have him). But he never went to school when he was at my home. Ilearned that through a mail sent to me by is teacher. He had lied to me. I never knew where he was during the day.

Because I should have kept more calm when I learned that Diego had not gone to school since my daughter left. As it is, I exploded and finally my daughter arranged for Diego´s father to take him. It had been her first choice, but he had refused.

It's really frustrating when you prepared something delicious for a person and that person , at the last minute would message you that he/she can't come . 
But anyway , you can have it for yourself and won't be cooking anymore .

They are made with half flour, half mashed potatoes, a bit of lard an yeast. then you make round cakes, about one finger thick. As it has yeast, you have to do it in advance so that it rises. Then you fry it.

Sorry to hear that he decided not to come. You are right you can't let yourself be sad or feel guilty about it. It was his choice not to come even though he knew how much it would mean to you if he did.
